Re: # 6 You say that it's in the book, so why can't you post it here? Hands too dirty to touch the holy book I suppose? Or maybe you're coming up with lame excuses and snippets from forwarded e-mails. That's what I would call pathetic. It's even more pathetic than all those ill things you mentioned down there.Bring the ayat here on this page, and we can proceed with the conversation, in a more civilized manner.

Fatima Jinnah Park – Metaphor for Pakistan\'s Problems and their Solution
Have you seen how fukked up that park is? Hopefully McDonalds would make some imporovements in the land given to them and make it a place worth visiting. I went to the Fatima Jinnah Park when there was some Disney festival sort of thing some time ago and was thoroughly disappointed. I'm surprised why people even call it a park.

Come on man, McDonalds is good food. You need to do some exercise too instead of just sitting on your couch gobbling down that heavy-duty McBurger. It's dangerous when you keep stuffing yourself with fat and don't do anything with it. Lazy people get heart disease, active people don't.Have you seen how fukked up that park is? Ahh! So that explains a lot about the nasty headaches I've been having! My brain is probably riddled with cancerous tumors and about to explode. Just like that Tetsuo guy in the Akira movie who's organs enlarge, pop out of his body and blow up into nothingness. All that because of a cellphone.

Rote Learning Vis-à-vis Physical Comprehension
I believe that this problem has to be corrected at the grassroots level. The way you manage an institution and create an environment of learning is very important for young impressionable minds. Without a properly managed system, idle teachers, century old books and notes, the students would feel unimportant, as if they are here to merely go through the course, clear the exams, and get a job. This results in change in attitude of the students, and they feel lost. The students too should root out the ills and the traditions that have plagued engineering institutions and should try to make themselves better.

Rote learning is something which I feel is being passed on from generation to generation. During my four year 'ordeal' in an engineering university, I was constantly surrounded by people whose attitude towards serious study was rather retarded. They believed strongly in rote learning, in obtaining better marks so that they could get better job opportunities in places where employers are more interested in your detailed marks certificate, and not in what you have learned. A terrible outcome of this easygoing laidback sort of attitude which has been passed on from generation to generation of students is the reduced number of engineering graduates who really are engineers, and not just exam clearing experts.I believe that this problem has to be corrected at the grassroots level. I hate Islamabad's planning. What's the point in putting all those trees and make it look like a forest? There should be more buildings, more cheap, reliable and clean transportation facilities, more shopping malls and recreation areas, and more places where people can relax and just have a good time. I have noticed that people in Islamabad are living in the past as compared to those living in Lahore or Karachi. This places really needs to move on from its silly concept of 'keep it clean and beautiful' and develop more infrastructure in a safe and clean way.
