Huntington\'s Clash of Civilizations Thesis

For these Islamists the ideal economy is that of ``inheritence`` of the wealth that is already given to them by the almighty.
So they cannot go beyond the thoughts of plunder and taking into possession natural assets like real estate and slaves.
these lazy good for nothing Islamsists cannot create any wealth. That is why no patents are filed by them on technologies that produce wealth- except on the technology that destroys wealth like blowing up buildings, planes and tubes.

Short = Ugly
Tall = Beautiful
Fair = Beautiful
Dark = Ugly
Sharp ``structured`` Features = beautiful
Smooth Features = Ugly

I would expect people who claim to follow the inner path not to make such stupid superimpositions. Calling SRK as a ``naukar`` only makes them look like an Arabian racist.

``The Islam of today and the belief sets of Muslims do not constitute a monolithic “civilization”. In presenting it as such, the US elite deliberately confound the facts and present images of oneness that are borrowed from utopian dreams by fringe groups like the Hizb ut Tahrir, which is then generalized to the entire world population of Muslims. Neither are Muslim beliefs so easily classified, so as to form a uniform index of religiosity across national boundaries which can be measured.``

That is the only redeeming statement from Asadi. From being a self professed Quranist who considers all other views as ``false`` the acknowledgement of ``plurality`` of views , perhaps equally valid, is welcome.
But the fact that it is NOT US that is trying to foist extremist groups as representative of muslim voice. It is THESE extreme groups that are doing such acts out of desperation in order to create suspicion in the minds of communities. Every Indian knows that riots are precisely doctored by the communalists to create schism in communal relations. OBL and Al-Qaeeda are trying to incite such communal riots on a world wide scale in order to polarize communities and make the communalists the self proclaimed default ``representatives``.
Every successful terror attack furthers the polarization and makes things worst for the moderate muslims who have nothing to do with these acts of terrorism.

Typical apologia for OBL. It is not even worth a second look.

``...and what are the sociological processes through which they then become self-fulfilling prophecies and assume a reality of their own. ``

Hitler always blamed the Jews and the West for forcing war onto Germany!! ``Self-fulfilling`` is a dangerous word. It tries to blame the victim for being the victim- like blaming the woman for rape because ``she had it comin```.
The same expression is now being used by the neo-cons for ``muslim victimhood``.
Asadi- you know how to churn out propaganda!!

``In other words, legitimation is achieved by generating an ‘us versus them’ climate of fear and paranoia, or as the ex-U.S. senator, Vanderbilt put it, by scaring “the hell out of the American people”. ``

After every audacious terror attack the Jehadi Rascals announce more terror on ``them`` and instigate all other muslims to follow up with such attacks. This is the real virus of violent view of ``us versus them``. Who is scaring the hell out of Americans by spreading terror- Antrax, snipers, chemicals, trying to procure dirty nuke, blowing up tubes?? And this guy is blaming US and the West for reacting to prevent further attacks??

``the largest conspiracy, playing out center stage in today`s world, a conspiracy that even the simplest mind can grasp, is the fictional account of how the world`s most massive military machine, the U.S. is somehow facing a ‘clear and present’ threat from people living in caves, brandishing ak-47 and world war 2 vintage RPGs. ``

Ah, the cat is out of the bag now!! So, the Dear OBL is NOT TO BE BLAMED? I would say- hang this dog!! He is the real culprit for making my life miserable as a muslim. He is spreading the ideology of hate- he is training people to kill and be killed- he is announcing to the world that he is leading the terror- ...... he must be hanged in public and his co-conspirators who spread his propaganda incarcerated.

Shilpa really showed that she is a person who understands multi cultural living more maturely compared to her British companions. One can see why - she is a Shetty from AP living in Mumbai and has acted in various regional movies of the country. Naturally she carries a greater empathy towards a multicultural living and shows mature sensibility.
I do not think all that happened was contrived. Yes, she did bow down to pressure from channel 4 trying to sweep the obvious racist remarks against her in order to save the program from being ditched by the sponsors.
The reactions from 30,000 British Indians shows that it did hit a raw nerve with them when they found the bollywood icons suffering from the suble racism of white bullying. It shows that racism is indeed a problem that needs to be sorted out by Britain

Re: # 8

An excellent article that rightly puts the megalomaniac dictator from the correct human perspective. SH was a rascal to the core and established ``peace`` and ``security`` inside Iraq through his dictatorial and brutal regime. This fact is something which the current Arab Islamist sympathesizers want to negate through their propaganda.
Do Pakistanis deserve a democratic system?

``Do Pakistanis deserve a democratic system?``

Do you deserve even the clothes you put on?? Do the poor deserve to be rich? What an imbecile topic from the same Army Band !! It looks like Chowk is getting funds from Paki Army Jernails to run their propaganda.
In the Line of Fire, A Review

The most unfortunate reason is that the Pakistanis are too full and puffed up with their uniqueness and false egos to even acknowledge the success of Indian democracy. Indian democracy in its nascent stages was mainly congress monopoly. Now it has number of national and regional political parties coming together to form coalition at the center. If democracy was allowed to take roots in Pakistan it would have taken care of un necessary concentration of political power with the parties of BB or NS and factions and regional alliances would have indeed formed automatically. The army`s criminal intervention in politics has destroyed the very basis of civilian rule in Pakistan. The other unfortunate reason is that the army needs to fight imaginary enemies and wars to keep it self in power- hence this nonnsense reference by the dictator to being ``in the line of fire``. The fact is that the Jehadis and Islamist radicals were created by the rascal Paki army and now they claim to have ``broken the back`` of their illegitimate child that they had fathered.

Do they take us for fools??

`` As I said earlier that elections are not held within a political party in Pakistan so the elections at a national level become meaningless. ``

spurious argument.One can only laugh when the PAkistani public laps this army propaganda.
Is there a rule of law or not in Pakistan? Does the Pakistani constitution permit such intervention by the army?? And who gave the army the right to intervene in the matters of election or dismissal of elected governments??

What nonsense these rascals spew on this board!!!
A Lovers’ Quarrel with Airport Profiling

Re: # 169

It is a legitimate query to elicit response regarding a visa seeker`s belief in the country`s political order. These questions are rightly asked by the visa officer from the visitor seeking a visa. And I would not mind answering to it if it gets raised by the airport security or even airlines security personnel since it only heightens my security of not being on an aircraft being targetted by a suicidal maniac.

It is a question like `` Do you believe that the democratic system in the country must be replaced by a Communist/Islmaist/Hindutva/Christain laws`` that gets asked the moment we find Communists , Hindutvadis and Christians blowing up the planes and commiting bombings of innocent civilians. Recall the days when the communists used to hijack and blow up planes and such questions were invariably asked because belief in such political order does indicate a possibility (though not a certainity) that the person does agree to the radical political goals and may go to an extent for its fulfilment. Such persons may facilitate, collaborate, provide ideological or propagandist support to those who may actually commit the violent acts.
The extent to which the person is commited to his political goals and the extent to which he may go to use violence to achieve his political goals depends upon other factors that need to be factored in the final ``Risk assessment`` such as his ``age group`` (based upon the empirical observation that old age radicals above 40 years do not often themselves commit suicide bombings) etc.

In the present context an Islamist`s interpretation of the Shariat Laws envisages a polity that is contrary to modern liberal democratic order. It is one of the parameters whose answer indicates a heightened factor of risk. When this risk factor gets added with other factors like person`s family and educational back ground, his age group, the pattern of his visits, the reasons for his visit and various other factors that may indicate his probability to be a potential risk then he should be certainly kept under surveillance during the flight or when he lands in the country.
The problems that present day ``profiling`` throw up is with the action authorities take when their software indicates that the person could be of higher risk. At least America needs to sort it out and should not arrest people just because their software indicates a higher risk.
But my take is that this is just the begining and things would be sorted out in a way that profiling would almost become un-intrusive for those who have nothing to be afraid of!!!
A Lovers’ Quarrel with Airport Profiling

``do we have conclusive proof that profiling works? for example, the us industrial prison complex is filled with brown and black men. thanks to dna technology, we are finding that several are not guilty of the crimes for which they were sentenced and imprisoned. Many critics in the US contend that their ``crime`` was being of color and male.

there is something wrong in basic, ethical principle to target brown and black people of arab or s asian descent in airports and on subways-it is a form of racism that speaks more loudly than any justification. ``

Profiling should not be confused with racism. A more appropriate word for it is ``Risk-Assessment``. Every person who handles Large Financial or scientific Projects or IT Security knows about it and there are specialized software tools that do the ``Risk Assessment``. Incidently, the latest risk to the Airlines industry is coming from the Islamists of specific bent and behavioural pattern. So, it is understandable that the issues of nationality and religious beliefs are considered in the Risk Assessment of the passangers.

In the future , when hindu or christian extreme elements would get frequently into the business of blowing passanger airlines we would certainly find these religious beliefs getting into parameters of the software that increase the risk to the passanger airlines.

As , I said earlier- if a security guy asks a question like `` Do you believe that the democratic system in this country should be replaced by Shariat Laws`` then that is a question that does not bewilder me because I know that I would not struggle to fake the answer.

``The only thing Musharaf is scared of is allowing people like you to vote for Nawaz and Babi Museebtay and after reading your post I tend to agree with him.``

Now the Army Band-Master is also issuing veiled threats to interactor who points to the ``real`` problem of Pakistan`s polity- The ARMY!

Pray, tell us how will you stop such people from voting for NS or BB???

Re: # 145

``measure the psychic effects of airline profiling.``

I know that I have nothing in my Imaan to psyche me up. OTH I find those who easily get swayed by the Islamist propaganda and start getting psyched up and shouting ``I have a bomb, give me a drink!!`` are the one`s who find all this profiling scary because it makes them confront their innermost thoughts of violence towards the ``other lifeworlds``.
Profiling works. It may be imperfect, but once the software gets more accurate to match the profile with the risky behaviour through experience, we are more likely to take early corrective action to remedy those with fractured psyche of ``conspiracy theories`` and propensity for violence towards ``other lifeworlds``.

``someone who has lived majority of their life outside Pakistan and is totally in love with words like ``democracy`` and ``power to the people`` without knowing the true maening behind those words. ``

LOL again!! Nice to know people in Pakistan know all the ``truths`` and their ``correct meaning`` about words like ``democracy`` and ``power to the people`` .

Please continue with your propaganda. Atleast we are not swayed by it!!!
