Untouchability and Sex

Good article Dutta...

I was wondering what my friends like Inquirer (a physicist turned pseudo commentator), Jay, Mohar etc. would be talking about?

Is this also a fault of the partition and Pakistan?

Well, with brains like yours, I wouldnt be surprised if you would say so...Inquirer, Jay, Mohar etc... I wouldnt be surprised!
The Spirit of Pakistan is Failing

Re: # 3

i never wish to enter in any kind of debate when both sides would have their conviction in the subject. but what pushes me to write is this mindset of seeing pakistan dissected into three or i-dont-know how many units forgetting about the basis of the nature of international relations. such an article or thinking could also have been taken as a comment of resistance against the situation that does not fit in the norms of a normal social or governance behavior but...three parts...four parts...five parts...six pa......

i would never get into a debate like this pointing daughters being exchanged in UP against a pair of dogs, missionaries being lynched alive with kids, mosques demolished and low-caste (whatever that means) people persecuted under a certain religion...or even eminent people writing about the ``end of india!`` spirit does matter and the ones who understand it, understand. the ones who dont, dont.

i would strongly suggest physicists doing physics and chemists doing chemistry etc.
An Empire in the Making

ALL THOSE WHO HAVE RIDICULED THIS ARTICLE must understand that every political rising is essentially a dream in the beginning. With it in the process, many other factors and forces join in. One angle that the writer didnt touch upon the Russo-Persian cooperation. We have seen that the historical crimes are hardly forgiven. Russians teamed up with Indians in 1971 and Pakistan teamed up with the US in 1981 - just 10 years down the road. What happened from 1981 - 1991 is part of history and we all know that.

Nations play great games as per their capacities. Some have bigger capacity than others but nonetheless, all play them. We have also seen that the brilliance defeats the size in these games and none really owns this bird called ``brilliance.`` Anybody can be!

Instead of brushing it aside, I would rather request readers to show a serious mindset as such articles rarely appear with some logical depiction of what at the moment seems a far fetched dream.

Nothing is impossible in the real politics of this globe.

India Did Not Kick Us Out

whether we like it or not...it`s not an india of nehru, shastri and azad anymore. so sad to see how the ethical fiber of a nation deteriorates at various places when genuine leadership is missing.

same applies to the land of the pure called pakistan!

Poor People are Dogs or Even Worse!

Re: # 43

dear mantolives:

about the other side...i liked what you said. what they think is their right and what we think is ours. let`s mutually respect that.

vis BMW: there`s absolutely no reason to loathe it for either its beauty or my inability to get one. at least, its manufacturer has a provident fund, health insurance and a right to appeal if someone`s to be fired. as i mentioned in my previous post: keeping the balance is important. also that i am not much into cars, i am pretty happy the way my suzuki rolls! series 7 or 70, i shall never loath it.

adios.

EVERYBODY:

first: this is both fiction and reality. the shattering of aqil`s image is real and so is six years` old girl. my friendship with the character is partially fictional but it did exist for quite some time.

second: i did protest and asked him to cool his temper when it happened in a different situation to what i have written about. there was no point of writing about all the discussion that i had had with him. i left in disgust and have refused to take his calls on my cell since then. i do not have any hopes that my friendly sermons would ever going to change him. so why befriend a someone who`s so hypocritical in ``practice and preach?``

third: vis intercon-socialist, i think this terms is pretty apt but as we should all bear in mind that keeping the balance is important. let`s not presume that all socialists should have certain kinds of personalities and they should stink with fatigues on them having flowing hair and beards. intercon-socialism is wrong. it definitely is. dall roti provides perfect nutrition for the day.

fourth: comments hinting that chowk is full of psuedo intellectuals...well, i would rather exist with any form of intellectual exercise than none. even if a socialist drives a BMW or a Merc...i would not have much of a difference if his treatment of fellow human beings is acceptable. if one is powerless to create new ropes then wisdom lies in working with the available ropes.

fifth: thank you all for your comments, criticism and above all: feeling the tone of what i wrote.
Seemingly, God is Angry at America

i dont think this could be it. God is too busy to be taking care of the affairs of this round planet called earth. He has to respond to so many of the affairs coming His way from all sides of the universe.

how a climatic change be termed as wrath of God and a stupid dumbass driver`s or owner`s greed be put as God`s act where fifty people were roasted black?

i dont really think God would like to hurt or torture His people. His is Great, Good and Big Guy with a Big Heart and lives in Summerland.
Sex and Pakistan vs. Rape and The World Media
Posted by mubakr Sep 23, 2005 03:41 am
Excellent article Saima.

In the words of great Eqbal Ahmad as he said in one of his interviews: The New York Times would report Iranian missile`s ability of 800 miles and hitting Israel and Saudi Arabia and would never report that Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iraq and Turkey also fall within the range of 800 miles. Why? Because Saudi Arabia has the ``strategic future assets`` called oil and Israel has the ``strategic future position`` in the tumultuous Middle East. Now apply the same principal to Pakistan or any other country in the Developing World and it will all make sense.

Given Pakistan`s sensitive political fault line: giving the bad name to the dog is essential to create the sensationalism that is the hallmark of the various media.
Advantage, Men

there`s this big madam in an ngo pushing me into a relationship that i dont want. well, i maybe more interested in the files she has on the shelves but her eyes suggest otherwise. there there`s this banker who eyes more of my job and reasonable bank account than servicing my banking needs and calls up to tell me my balance. though i would not have inquired about it. then again this media and pr manager of a high profile multinational whom i once helped getting her thing done at my office. i only tried to be courteous to a mutual reference who referred her to me. two years since then, she makes it a point to drop me hints, lines and passes whenever possible. two more examples but i aint not here proving a rasputine or something.

i never complained. i know for a fact that a large number of girls enjoy such teasing at times but as there cannot be generalized males, there cant be females too. trying to prove males as creatures having their balls fitted in their eyeholes and mind full of semen that gets a five seconds erection...well...what to speak of the mind that imagines the erection of the salesman!

sameena: i enjoyed the article but unfair generalization from the fair gender.

cheers.

Am I Insane?

EMMA:

you are a brave sould with a kind heart.

you did the right thing by writing it up on chowk. at times when there`s no way forward in a tunnel of one`s pesonal life, sharing provides the spark to keep moving ahead. and i tell you what, if he doesnt wish to live with you; you shouldnt either. life means more. more of every thing and yes, there still will be life after or without him which will offer you more disappointments, accomplishments, sanity and insanity...just about everything!

and this final line`s for you:

``Freedome lies outside of the fence we build for ourselves``

good luck and you shouldnt fail!
Why Am I An Agnostic Muslim?

Re: # 100

Ta`zia is to mourn and is used in religious terms to refer to the mourning procession in which the shia muslims beat their chests, cut themselves to bleed and congregate to remember the sacrifice of Imam Hussain.

Well, Well, Well...

EVERY BODY:

thanks for your comments...appreciating, criticizing, encouraging and castigating! i enjoyed all. three things:

1. my article did not mean at all to either promote or demote God as an institution.

2. religion is a funny thing. all followers of different religions speak of their religion to be the truthful. which one is really truthful?

3. i didnt challenge that there`s NO God and i didnt either submitted that there IS God. we all move in our own spirals. let`s keep moving in them.

HUMARA_WAH: thanks for your tableegh but i did NOT ask for any proofs of God`s existance. i believe He may exist; i blieve He may not exist.

NADIA_ZEHRA: your precision in every thing is what i like. thanks for your comments.

NASAH: you are entitled to your views and i CORDIALLY respect that. but i am also entitled to mine and i also demand respect for my views.

ASFAND: No. we are not going to resolve this matter on this forum. but we can at least talk. Sir.

and finally...

Na mein Moosa na Firaon...
