Apostasy and Islam
``Is there any room for free speech, individual choice and rationalism in the Muslim world?`` How can there be?
but yes, good to explore this issue. it`s really messed up and has to be sorted out, whether islam likes it or not.

what lies at the heart of this entire saga is a mind who somehow taught other minds to function no longer. brainwashing we call it. it`s a chain thing and serves the purpose of a few who may or may not have much to do with religion or god for that matter. and if all this has anything to do with it, it`ll be very sad in the end though it is sad enough now. god is not blind dear bat, justice will be done. have faith in him.

gee, what i meant was, the people targetting shias for their being shia have to be mentally retarded NOT THE SHIAS themselves.

i don`t like to tread over people`s belief systems unless they compel me. and yeah, i`m not a sunni however i`m from an orthodox sunni family. now i don`t know what you understand by orthodoxy. but for me their orthodoxy is simply their particularity in keeping up with the codes of behaviour, obligations etc. and they`re not bad people believe me, however orthodox they may appear. anyway, however sad it may seem, i personally feel there is a need to separate the sunni branded militant organizations from the average sunni who just goes to the mosque, offers his prayers, fasts when he`s supposed do, goes to work, bears and brings up his kids and simply seeks a peaceful life. i`m very sure the concern of the average pakistani sunni is to earn his bread and peace and nothing much more.

who is a moderate sunni. how do you differentiate a moderate sunni from an extreme sunni. one who kills and one who doesn`t kill? you are confusing concept with reality. whatever these so-called jihadis call themselves , they can`t be sunnis just cos` they apparently call themselves so or pray 5 times things like that. you have to be guided accordingly in a certain discipline and if that discipline fails to guide you , that`s your test. i don`t like to tread over people`s belief systems unless they compel me. and yeah, i`m not a sunni however i`m from an orthodox sunni family. now i don`t know what you understand by orthodoxy. but for me their orthodoxy is simply their particularity in keeping up with the codes of behaviour, obligations etc. and they`re not bad people believe me, however orthodox they may appear. anyway, however sad it may seem, i personally feel there is a need to separate the sunni branded militant organizations from the average sunni who just goes to the mosque, offers his prayers, fasts when he`s supposed do, goes to work, bears and brings up his kids and simply seeks a peaceful life. i`m very sure the concern of the average pakistani sunni is to earn his bread and peace and nothing much more.

hmm. it`s natural eruption . many of my shia friends can`t help saying all these things. it`s the obvious picture but perhaps not the only one. maybe the so-called faith-bearers have nothing to do with sunnis or sunnism at all. and then, why would anyone want to annihilate shias particularly other than someone who`s mentally retarded? pretty much like racism isn`t it? faithism? if it has anything to do with it of course. i doubt this is the case. most people have a tendency to come up with such theories if their community is being attacked more often but theories offer no real explanation. relying on conjectures simply can lead to other worse situations.

something of the sort might have happened to me, but it didn`t. i got to know about it before my father could ask me and warned my family if they invite them or even let them come. the guy was some engineer working in amreeka, that`s all that i got to know about him and also that they wanted the marriage to take place before december 2003 (LOL), and well it made no sense since he didn`t know me... and then when my father told them i wasn;t willing to even meet, they were like ``WHY!!!`` . He said, aajkal ke bachay apni marzi kartay hain, ..what can i say..blahblah.. but what of it.. they must have hunted around for another 21-year old paki damsel for their money-making boy who was ready to get married to anyone. :p

I was attending a discussion ;this professor of international relations had arranged it... and in that as well... he was continually discriminating muslims from nonmuslims... saying muslims have the power of faith whereas nons don`t have it and blahblahblah...seemed he was very proud about it, contemptuous even... however, not only that this man has been a topnotch graduate in his respective discipline, but also qualified for a fullscholarship at Oxford, and has also studied philosophy as a minor....falsafa parh ke bhee jiss ka yeh haal ho, uska kya kaheeyey....
