such minute detailed poem! loved it in your ilog then...
really touching and inspiring remindes me of one landord in nearby village who used to take out his batwa from where you can guess and then so much layered it was to show his shanakti card and the kaghazat of zameen he hid in them :)

A natural disaster gives a picture as god is merciless aur handicapped. But currently it seemed that God was also angry with Sehvan Shareef, Sindh where Urs of Lal Shehbaz Qalander was celebrated and 50 people died on way back in the bus packed with more than 60 zayirin. Though it was a traffic accident but bus caught fire and people were not able to come out and were burnt alive. Just the way same day earlier the bus burnt of the evacuees in Texas.
The percentage of blame sometimes gets pointed to authorities as in Katrina case and now Rita.
But in Pakistan this sad trajedy could be averted if there were emergency gates inside the bus. Emergency gates are fixed in bus body when they are assembled but the drivers remove them to add more seats. Its really a shame!

Standing Alone in Mecca by Asra Q. Nomani
Hajar, Abraham’s concubine, abandoned in the desert with her infant son, lived centuries before the advent of Islam.Khadija, the wife of the prophet was an independent businesswoman much before she asked him to marry her. Before she converted to Islam. ``
Jawahra:
Hazrat Hajra wife of Hazrat Ibrahim was not a concubine but legally bonded with him. And how come that time was Pre-Islamic. Islam was accomplished in its teachings and was completed by Prophet Muhammed (P.B.U.H) which had been started since Adam times.
She was left by Ibrahim on commands of God. Where in hills of Safa and marwa she desperately searched for water for infant Ismail which gushed in the form of spring `zamzam` originated beneath Ismail`s feet with his rubbing on sand. This seven times running between the hills is a ritual of pilgrimage after Hazrat Hajra.
Isn`t the author of the book unaware of some of the solid facts or the reviewing author has added this?
Similarly Hazrat Khadija was from banu Hashim with Islam practising ancestors. She can also be not termed pre-Islamic example.
Had it been unislamic then Muhammed should have renewed his wedding according to shariah upon his revelations at the age of 40 where theformal Nikkah at first hand was read by Abu Talib who is also believed in history as died as Kafir. How come Muhammed remained his Nikkah read by a Kafir and keep it forever. Shouldn`t it be considered `Batil`.
Muhammed however upon revelations of `Wahi` gained strength by Khadija`s advice.

``The author gains strength from the Muslim mothers who came before her. They are her spiritual guides. However, she misses a crucial point. Two of the women and their accomplishments to which she constantly refers, were from Pre-Islamic times.Hajar, Abraham’s concubine, abandoned in the desert with her infant son, lived centuries before the advent of Islam.Khadija, the wife of the prophet was an independent businesswoman much before she asked him to marry her. Falling In
The epitome of poem is beautifully kept and in my perception it gives the mystifying feeling when we are to perform the last most obligation in the later part of our life where there is no turning back of immense behind and you come out of your structure firmly to possess the rite and drink the simplest water. I have always imagined those unsteady feelings whether I will be able to complete it all ritually. Well if one goes in philosophy of Pilgrimage then it is when you register yourself all to god by recollecting your deeds and perfectly only (1) among thousands` life virtues are accepted. Though you could be sincere at the end by it is always conclusion of life behind not the life then and there. Similarly that of sacrifice which could happen in every year is also a testimonial for your on going life
``The road turns
the corner of light
too bright to see past and you
must follow the shape of a man
to taste simplest water``...
Indeed a good read.

There is an untold exhilaration in the poem and it takes me to the reputed resurgence as in the rite of pilgrimage when one denies his/her second nature very potently. Well due to my lack of grip of context I follow this vital theme till end of poem where last stanza stands very teasingly and it is also the source of mockery to write this bunch down. The slaughter of lamb/goat in the end of Hajj is a ritual which is cumplosarly followed after the whole days when one abstains him/herself from even rupturing dust of life and all itself but this lamb cutting like life seems a challenging aspect to untainted custom. However accurately speaking I got a vivid image of frames of video of famous Pearl’s murder when he was slaughtered very brutally alive. I think it goes with rhythm of that.Forgive for obfuscating,
Cheers,

Your dady a hindu + you a hindu+your mummy hindu ` your husband a muslim + his father a muslim , his mummy hindu(ambiguous)
Hindu: 4
Muslim: 2
This makes your child a 4/6 =2/3 hindu and 1/3 muslim.
You should be delightful that your boy is a more racist (ratio) at this delicate age than you would be at maths at your age.

Isn’t it a shocking revelation that toddler of 6 knows ratios. Well the fractions seem ambiguous as how been derived.Your dady a hindu + you a hindu+your mummy hindu ` your husband a muslim + his father a muslim , his mummy hindu(ambiguous)

Muslim: 2

A good suave read in canvas of urbanity. And more interesting to read as told by Manju :-) and I have seen the picnic spots Paradise Inn and Hawks Bay recently so can rehearse the funny gnomes observed. As I told my mate that I would visit Gadani/HawksBay . She gazed at me and said..``Kali Ho Jayo gi?`` I said..Phir kiya Hua Abhi Konsi..? She said..Phir Bhi.. But the thought of `Fair n Lovely` as pointed by her didn`t came in my mind. May be these are objects of interest of teen inclusives though it is a cosmetically ineffective ointment.Well the story seems to belonged to a middle classs family with pervertions in relationships because of heritage and its effects on kins specially kids.
Hazrat Sarmad Shaheed: The Naked Sufi Martyr
There used to be a baba in murree who also remained naked sunk in ice for years. And was a famous for people to visit and the lucky person would be the one who is hit badly by him..It is said that Ayub Khan was blessed by him as he remained in the Aastan with his family for four days all just sitting on charpoi waiting dad to be hit. And atlast he was given news of power very awfully.

A Moment of Silence
But for how long?
Till we are left speechless
Till our tongues are snatched from our mouths
Should we remain silent forever?
Or just long enough to hunger
Ourselves to death
//
Silence prevails spectation
Where time shall come
when eyes speak, hands speak with lips sealed
.....
A Moment of silence for deaths in London Tube explosions.

Enigma of the Defence Budget
``I wouldn`t hold up the example of the CCP and Mao Zedong as ``proving`` the virutes of ``Dictator for Life.`` Mao was arguably the worse thing that ever happened to China (upto and including the Opium Wars and the Japanese invasion). Read some Chinese history and find out what Mao did during the Great Leap Forward and the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution.
Now, if you were to hold up Deng Xiaoping as ``proving`` why a lifetime job is a good thing, that is another matter! ``
I was not intended to proved Mao as the Dictator faced by China, but if you know in China Communist Party the bottom up approach of constituiting leadership always chose him to be the chairman of its party. For the coincidence of Benazir Bhutto who herself proclaimed to be the denominator whereby she is included by the majority people to continue this designation would be proven the same if done democratically. And by that way she is nominating her subordinates and authorities which also should be elected by themselves so reversing the socio political procedures making the party weak.
Mao is criticized for his Laep Forward plan for transforming from rapid agricultural growing economy to modern light industrialization where China faced many droughts at those couple of years. But it was a positive incentive towards uplifting rural growth and making new opportunities in Urban Development. The real picture at macro level can be described by an economist.

More power to you. I recently happen to listen to your discussions which more look like assails from regime inclined anchors to any PPP representative.
More interestingly here you are asked the same questions about party internal elections which can favor to give space and merge many parallel working bodies leadership to participate according to manifesto.
The till-death chairpersonship of BB is also a issue to be democratized, however we have examples of revolutionary leaders like Mao who served in CCP 1929-1976 carrying Marxism and fight against social imperialism which had been also the primary purpose of PPP`s establishment.

Faraz
The story is painfully disturbing and I am not able to get the idea why Faraz acted like he didn`t belong to the circumstances. What was threatning him from which he tried so much to escape to death. A real haunting depression could be cured. I feel he was felt only not treated deeply tobe heeled. If there been personal losses then I think the family should keep an account of care to make him feel posses the harmony and expand his strengths.
From your description it appears him a sadist who confines his feeling to develop his innerself. And its not thoroughly clear of the background he belonged to, or what teased him the most, what social insecurites he couldn`t handle.
Your personal loss of a friend is very distressing and may be it had made no difference if you wrote the real loops of scorn which shattered his endurance.

Are all Women Witches?
Witches exist or not but social spoof to humiliate women for bringing bad luck lives in our part of world. With birth of new born daughter the man doesn’t take best wishes and shows his disappoint to the mother as she is the only responsible factor. And many times in that tormented state of delivering baby women gets upset with tears rolling down her cheeks when the news comes in being of a girl.
This stigma continues to play when a women gets married…Either she is a Lakhsmi who brings money and comfort to the home where other half of her life generates or she is the one who has spoiled the merry potentials her husband could get after their union..
If ill-fated she gets widow or her marriage doesn’t hold then she is considered a symbol of chronic fortuneless closed path.
Heavy hearted I have seen in many marriages when widowed/divorced women are still seen as being under shell of curse and are abandoned to even touch or see the bride and even their shadow mustn’t be castled on bride. Wearing colorless simple clothes these women tend to disappear as expected from the crowd when bride is cherished with Henna on her hands. They literally have nothing to offer the bride as they have been fate stricken which could harm this aspect in the upcoming life. Many low voices I hear …don’t invite her on “Mehndi” at least…She do not have kids still…do not let her wish the bride…
May be she had more to present the happiness then anyone else but she is prevented of being showing up even.
The thing continues when a poor lady working in home or living in neighbor is thought to carry bad cravings. She is thought to ruin the food if eaten in front of her hungry eyes or she is green-eyed for successes because of her utter poverty…And such women are kept at a distance just to fill our sacred appetite.
