Growing Up Red
I still remember you from Govt. College Lahore around 1986-88. I don`t think our group at college gave a rat`s ass about the political or religious affiliation. You probably mingled with the wrong crowd. You should have hungout with us kafirz ;)

I went to H-8 college Islamabad after my dad got transfered to Islamabad. I still remember Baaz Gul a friend of mine and an Afghan. He was probably the most hospitable person living in Islamabad at that time. I can still visualize sitting with Baaz Gul and Zarrar Khan (My other friend from Mianawali) sipping green tea and smoking Mild7 (Baaz Gul`s favorite brand). I hope Baaz Gul is doing fine.

I went to Govt. College Lahore with Afghans and they were treated like any other Pakistani. Several years back an Afghan bought servareal acres of land next to our farm and he is treated like anyother ``Punjabi``. Probably my experience with Afghans is very much unique ;).
Keep one thing in mind that Millions of Afghan refugees who came to Pakistan as a result of the Afghan/USSR war were alowed to work and own their businesses in Pakistan. Pakistan was the one who suffered the most as a result of this war. The drugs and KK culture are just few of the products of this war.

rsridhar,
Why are you so mad? Is it my fault that you are ugly? Why don`t you ask your Shiv God and worship his penis a little more. Do me a favor remove all the mirrors from your home. It may sooth your brain a little.

India has the largest number of conversions in the world i.e from hindu to Christian/Muslim. When was the last time you saw anybody converting to hinduism? hinduism is a religon full of social injustice. Dalits are abandoning their religon in thousands everyday due to the ill treatement they face everyday.haideri

Decline of Science in the Muslim World
Yar Kauray,
I think you need to do a little bit more research. Go to the reputed libraries in Europe and America and see who those Muslims were. As long as learning from Indians, Chinese and Europeans is concerned it is true to some extent. For example learning paper making from Chinese, zero from Indian e.tc.
I you want to learn more learn a little bit about the origin of Algebra, Chemistry e.t.c you will get your answer quickly.

``Ranjit Singh kept other sikhs sardars at distance and filled his confidants with Dogras, Poorbias, and Muslims - which ultimately destroyed his kingdom and Punjab.``
You have a very strong point there. This is an intersting topic to investigate.

``What did Sikhs and Ranjit Singh gain by having secular Punjab? If Ranjit Singh had treated muslims in Punjab the same way they treated non muslims before, there would have been no Pakistan``
Seems like you have not read the history. There were only 19% Sikhs, 26% Hindus and the rest were Muslims in the Punjab when it was ruled by the Ranjit Singh. I am a great admirer of Ranjit Singh and I think he was a genious (even though he could not read and write) Punjab back then was under constant threat from the outside invaders i.e Muslims from Afghanistan. The only way he could have survived was through Punjabi Muslim support. Also places like Kasur and Peshawar e.t.c were ruled by the Muslim governers and Ranjit Singh received anual Nazrana from those guys governers.
