Cat is Out of the Bag
Without any further ado, Musharraf needs to step up and show to all of us that he is different - different from all military rulers and different from all previous stake-holders. It is an opportunity of a life-time for Musharraf to show to the world that he credulous a person and someone who has no personal motives ...

Although I am a strong and staunch supported of General Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz, I believe this is one decision which will not augur well for this nation. General Musharraf is about to commit his second blunder (first being the farcical referendum). Without any further ado, Musharraf needs to step up and show to all of us that he is different - different from all military rulers and different from all previous stake-holders. It may be a toothless tirade; but finally some entertaining activities are beginning to captivate us. Not that I am defending Dracula; but Islamabad is a boring and dull city ... come what may we need to generate some activities and I guess DRACULA and PHANTOM OF THE OPERA are steps in the right direction cuz realistically Islamabad has no spots for entertainment apart from Jinnah Market .. Tell me others if u know any ??

Okay, lets not further enter into horrendous quagmire but for all my fellow chowkies, let us concentrate on debating the President`s uniform. If he does not shed it, I think Musharraf will lose an opportunity to go into the books of history as a truthful and competent military ruler ....
We Don’t Need You Shaukat Aziz
Why don`t we need Shaukat Aziz? We do because here is a man who has come to serve the nation leaving behind, perhaps, the most lucrative job that a Pakistani has held. We need to be proud of him as he is the only Asian (not South Asian but Asian) to have reached one of the most executive posts in world banking. It is no farce nor a facade.
I guess we need to give Shaukat Aziz time before we come to such irrational conclusions.
As for a friend who said that the economy turned around due to planes hitting buildings, sir, we needed someone to establish opportunities; to revamp infrastructures; to fund and put money in the right places and to and to establish credibility....we needed Shaukat Aziz and no air-planes helped this cause of hours.

It is a shame for our nation that we have lost trust in all and sundry. Come on, this nation is 57 years old and still we are caught up in a battle of power and lustful dominance.

Having said that, let me plead to all my fellow Pakistanis that in the largest interest of this nation we ought to give this technocrat PM some time to prove his credentials...and I am sure they are magnanimous.

Let us be pragmatic. Look at the brilliance with which Shaukat Aziz has reformed a dead economy. Instead of being grateful to him, we are indulging in mud-slinging. Isn`t it shameful on all of us that a man capable of making Pakistan move ahead is being looked at as another country`s choice. Having said that, let me plead to all my fellow Pakistanis that in the largest interest of this nation we ought to give this technocrat PM some time to prove his credentials...and I am sure they are magnanimous.
Military Intervention vs. Institutions’ Growth
Well, the military intervention has not let other institutions grow; but ironic is the fact that only the military of Pakistan can be labeled as an organized institution in this country.
What would be interesting is a question that what do chowkies have in mind about ``the perfect model of democracy`` in Pakistan....I think the present one has loopholes but it is the only one which after resurrection can be deemed fit. Comments? ?

I agree that Pakistan cannot function under an imported model of democracy. It has to create a new one ... which, although, should have been done in the time of 57 years which is ample enough. But, it is better late than never. Well, the military intervention has not let other institutions grow; but ironic is the fact that only the military of Pakistan can be labeled as an organized institution in this country.

India has given so much to its greatest celeb, Bachchan saab; but haven`t the Pakistani been unfair to perhaps the only ``real`` screen-legend ever produced by this nation.... - assassin
