Saviour or Tinpot Dictator?
It is ridiculous to think that Mushy has the power to do all of this. He is a figurehead for GHQ Rawalpindi, you really think they will sit by and let him end their party (presuming that he actually wanted to)? For some semblance of real democracy to be achieved the army will have to be completely reformed and substantially reduced in size (along with defence spending). Most importantly as long as the people expect some superman or ``saviour`` to come along nothing will ever change...

Would India be a Threat to the Islamic Conference?
``These conditions might include meeting pre-specified targets on freedom of expression and religion, discrimination and Islamophobia, human rights and the liberty of Muslims, and parity in economic and social conditions of Muslims versus non-Muslim populations.``
Wouldn`t it be more realistic and fair to ask countries that are already members of the OIC to meet these conditions first?

People are getting unnecessarily worked up over this article. As much as brother Masadi annoys me I think he`s pretty harmless. He hasn`t expressed any desire to impose any of that shariah crap and as long as he respects other peoples right not to believe than alls good. I read this article as being more about a personal journey than anything else.

I watched a short documentary about Rajiv on the History Channel , they didn`t mention anything about him supporting Saddam. Interesting that the American media left a major detail like that out about a closet commie, when they didn`t even forgive King Hussein (one of their favourite A-raaab strongmen) for it.

the new hadiqa kiyani song with aamir zaki is pretty good, kinda repetitive doesn`t really go anywhere but still good by local standards, the video would have been good too had it not been for hadiqa`s shitty acting skills.

Salim I agree with most of wht you said, but you`re overlooking the most important detail, Aurangzeb himself did not like to be called an Indian a native of India he was fine with emperor of Hindustan but definitely not as hindustani (unless I`m getting it completely wrong and mixing Aurangzeb up with an another Mughal who said some pretty derogatory things about the natives) hence my comparison to the brits.cheers,
Shivaji -- Portrait of the King as Barbarian
Hope you are doing well,
I think the primary consideration here is that Aurangzeb considered himself a foreigner (he said some pretty horrible things about Indians) he ruled over the natives like the British (possibly a lot worse). Correct me if I`m wrong but didn`t the British viceroy not have a title that labeled them as Governor Generals of INDIA, that didn`t make them Indian either. So would an armed struggle against the British also not have been tantamount to terrorism? Regardless, imo their would only be a right wing hindutva bias if all mughal emperors were considered outsiders, which is clearly not the case.

Thanks for that, it was a very informative read.
I think the MQM of the past is dead, Altaf is a smart man he knows that he will never taste real power at the national level unless he gives up his angry student politics, thats why he has reformed the partys image and attempted to create a more uniting platform. The MQM top cadre was notably silent on the controversy surrounding the of teaching Sindhi at intermediate level, and have supported the smaller provinces in the Kalabagh issue. I personally think that it is a change for the best and they are afterall the country`s only avowedly secular and progressive party.
Also, I agree with you on Punjabi`s being used as convenient scapegoats. I encourage mohajir`s to travel to Punjab and live their, in order to dispel some of the myths they have about the Punjoo character, from my experience all they want to do is bhangra and eat. :)

The Brazillian band you`re referring to is probably Sepultura one of my favourite bands of all time. Also check out some Anthrax, Megadeth and Motorhead. Good luck on you`re journey of musical discovery, just remember to stay well clear of crap like Slipknot I would rather have the scabs on the penis thing.

Their are plenty of options. In Islamabad establishments popularly known as Chinese Club`s in the F/7 area provide the service at 800 rupees for a massage and a little more if you`re willing to pay extra.
In Karachi their are many ``beauty parlours`` in the Tariq Road and Clifton areas, that you can get the above mentioned services at, but you need contacts to get in there.
