Cost of Questioning
This is the thread I started.

This is just to prove to Sobia and Succubus that we can still get in.
Thanks to my husband, I was able to log in. The guy is a genius and he made it work just before the Super Bowl – go Eagles!
On a more serious note, Chowk is merely a reflection of the larger Paki society. Your dictatorial government, your intolerant religion, and your unfair society are all represented by Chowk. Just like in Paki society, you ban dissenters that you don’t agree with, you mysteriously make messages disappear, you wipe out entire threads you don’t like, and you block IP addresses when all else fails. You do this based on the traditional Paki “SIFARISH” system of who knows whom in power. You use selective enforcement, selective banishment, and selective judgment to make your rule prevail over the innocent subjects. Three of your civilian leaders are in exile, several journalists and columnists are in jail or “house arrest” merely for their opinion, and you have officially declared some of your own coreligionists as “non-Muslims.”
Indians can help you resolve IT and Telecomm issues, but they cannot teach you democracy and freedom of speech. That you will have to learn, practice, and defend on your own. Perhaps we Americans could help somewhat. Eye Rak and Afaghanistan are headed for democracy. Iran is next. Perhaps Pakistan will also become a democracy one day – with American help. How do you say it? Inshallah and Mashallah!
The main question for my group of associates is whether we want to waste our time on a medium where certain “pet” favorites control the environment? Six out of eight in our group have lost interest in Chowk because of its selective censorship. Kum se kum, Mumbaichick aur Nangaparbat ne Sobia ki sukhi lay lee. No wonder she was so upset and had to run to super Chowk Staff for assistance, just as Saminasha and Scout before her. When these privileged few lose their debates they run to Chowk mama – I think the rest of us can claim this as a victory!

Thank you for letting me express my disappointment with this type of thought suppression.

If Godhra did not happen…
Oh where have the Pakis gone?
When I visited Chowk last summer, I was told to expect great Indo/Pak rivalry. I was not disappointed. FP was a constant thrilling match between first-rate Indians and almost equally-matched Pakis, dueling day and night. Sadna, arjun, harimau, ballukhan, kaurasach, rsridhar, mohar, veeresh, and gujjubania were constantly on the attack from the Indian side. On the Paki side, Omar, barachota, tahmed, romair, and urstruly were trying their best to defend Paki honor. The level of knowledge, wit, and sarcasm, all expressed in scintillating English of high caliber by both sides, was definitely entertaining and invigorating. Barachota, while almost always wrong from my point of view, was very effective as an opponent. Defending the indefensible, he would take on several Indian heroes simultaneously, in a futile attempt to defend his miserable country. While I disagreed with his opinions, he was always armed with wit, logic, and detailed knowledge of world history. Omar, BC, and tahmed would team up and almost looked effective until Sadna would put them down with fascinating facts from her reservoir of articles and her indefatigable manner. Then, in a brilliant stroke of skill, gujjubania killed barachota with that famous “piss on the prophet” episode. BC came back as KKKandK and for a while the feuds continued with almost equal valor and energy. They were joined by Mantolives and the temporary loss of Sadna almost equalized the battle.
Unfortunately for Chowk and for the Pakis, conditions have succumbed to way below standard. Omar has disappeared. The talented and humorous Tahmed is tired and goes to UP to hide and spend the last few years of his literary life. Mantolives is organizing some sort of defense of Lahore. The brilliant KKKandK gave way to the whining, romantic, and pitiful Salim, who has been masquerading behind several innocuous “nommes des guerre.” The Paki side is getting decimated in battlefields such as “Godhra” on FP by several new Indian heroes. I, who was intimated by FP last year, can easily defeat all the Pakis on FP single-handedly. And UP is nothing more than a place for Pakis to gather and mourn the miserable state of their society, exchange some biryani recipes, flirt with effeminate men or Amazon “women” and lash out at each other during the not so infrequent “civil” wars.
Lately the mantel of Paki defense has been assumed by a couple of third-rate pretenders, such as, Atif, who is about as manly as our own JohnGalt; HP. the dirty old man; and Catchy, the perennial cut & paste image artist. Even Succubus, the lame bimbo, who gets Urdu/Punjabi diarrhea when confronted with putting two sentences together in proper English, has attempted to lead the futile Paki charge. These annoying characters get easily excited in “my mom’s better than your mom” arguments and then celebrate with sissy high fives as if they had engaged in a debate. The level of English used by these Pakis reflects the standard of this language in their pathetic educational institutions.
Chowk, both on FP and UP, is getting annoyingly boring when it comes to Indo/Pak feuding. Debating the Pakis has become as easy as tripping Muslim pall bearers as they carry the coffin of Pakistan to the grave. Those of us who enjoy this pastime will have to find greener pastures if the caliber of Paki literary resources does not improve dramatically and immediately.

Why Am I An Agnostic Muslim?
Great article. Enjoyed reading it. I hope you find the truth. I have always felt that NO ONE has the monopoly on truth. The problem is that nobody has informed the Muslims about that bit of truth. If you do good then the gods will take care of themselves. We all know what good is. It is not praying 5 times a day, traveling to a distant city, or not eating this food or that food for however long. Good means being good to the earth and its inhabitants. Killing is not good - not even in the name of any god or any philosophy. Just my two cents. Good luck.

So you are upset the Modi got reelected. Maybe we can declare the election results null and void. That`s the problem with Pakis, they don`t understand the sanctity of elections nor the ensuing results. Look at BD 1971 and all the civilian governments removed by military coups. Hold elections and if you don`t like the results, just get rid of the winners. It`s scary that we have these types of people as neighbors.

Hindu suicide squads make just about as much sense as Muslim peace marchers.

Farzana,
The acts of carnage and murder were despicable enough. The propsect of having Hindu suicide squads is too outlandish in my opinion. Hindus do not have a suicidal mentality and the motivational prospect of going to heaven - there is no such thing. So, I would suggest immediately refuting this possibility. Great article, otherwise.

//These sevaks were shouting religious slogans and were obviously motivated. Has the possibility of them being a suicide squad not occurred to anyone? Could they not have been terrorists out to create trouble? //Farzana,

Indira Gandhi was the best PM we ever had. She showed the world what woment can do. She earned the respect of the whole world. We should thoroughly investigate to make sure the Pakis didn`t cause her untimely death.

I think that you are the moderator. We need to get back to the main issue of the cruelty of the Paki government in not allowing this valuable doctor to stay with her husband. I think the Paki government is afraid of a flood of thousands of Sikhs who will demand the same treatment. There will be many Paki ladies throwing themselves at these Indians` feet, begging them for marriage.

Gujju is absolutely right. India is putting the past behind it and moving on. What happened in 1984 was that we had two wrongs. Killing Indira Gandhi was a definite wrong and the Hindu mobs that slaughtered all those innocent Sikhs were not doing any favors to her spirit. Bhindranwale and his goons were Paki agents and the Indian government was forced to act. At that time, it was revealed that many of the dead ``Sikh`` terrorists in the temple were circumcised. There were too many fingers pointing at Zia and the Pakis.

Stop your so-called research or I will be telling you stories about the thousands of Muslim women who refused to be ``rescued`` back to Pakiland and chose to live their lives with Sikh husbands during the partition days. It is better to leave these things under the covers.

KKK are you trying to somehow prove that Feroz Gandhi was a Muslim and that Rajiv and Sanjay were half-Muslim and that Indira Gandhi could not stay away from Muslim men? That may very well be (it was her own personal issue), but she sure showed her liking for Paki Muslim men by imprisoning almost 100,000 in 1971. However, if she was that partial to such men, why did she release them back to Pakiland? Stop your so-called research or I will be telling you stories about the thousands of Muslim women who refused to be ``rescued`` back to Pakiland and chose to live their lives with Sikh husbands during the partition days. The problem with Paki film industry is that they are always trying to show a Sikh hero, in full turban and all that gear. Apparently, that is what turns on the Paki ladies and the film industry provides what the local audience wants. Paki youngsters, influenced by their visiting relatives from UK, US, Dubai, and Singapore, have enjoyed Indian movies more and more, especially in Karachi and among the Urdu-speaking crowd in Lahore and Islamabad. I wonder if Paki Punjabi movies are a big hit with our own Punjabi folks in Amritsar and Ludhiana?

You are so right, these desi men are rather stupid. With all these outages, electric ones would be terribly frustrating. Which ones do you recommend? I use a Black & Decker Model 69 cordless.
Thanks,

The issue is quite simple. Stop the terrorism, concentrate on your people`s well-being, let the Kashmiris participate in India`s democracy, and everybody will be happy. Pakistan has great potential if only it disavows extremism, militancy, and taking Kashmir by force. India can afford to make progress AND bleed Pakistan dry by ``competition`` in defense.
