Deadly Earthquake

A terrible tragedy indeed!

May humanity manifest itself in terms of relief efforts and give strength to the victims and those who have lost their loved ones.

For the hotheads, let`s be gracefully polite and put your neurons to a more constructive purpose and do the best that you can.

For, if you want the kick, you can always start another thread about political morality followed by the usual south asian mud-slinging.
Was Muslim Astronomy the Harbinger of Copernicanism?

Re: # 18

Thanks!

But then it should be just ``unknown`` not ``nothing``, ain`t it?
I think ``nothing`` symbolizes the void/absence whereas unknown symbolizes uncertainty.

Refreshing as always Mr.Gill, thanks for another nice article.

They used ``la (nothing or unknown)`` and the western mathematicians started using ``x`` for ``la.``

Not sure if you mean this is related with zero(0), but the invention of zero ia attributed to India.

Exactly what has Pakistan been flexible on?

Earlier they were gonna take it by force, now they will let us plead them to take it peacefully, flexibility indeed!

Earlier they were gonna rip apart all of Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir, now they will let us keep a small section of Jammy as a token, wow! It`s overwhelming!

Accept the Line of Denial and let the Hindustanis hijack the dreams and ideals of the Kashmiri People?

Mr. Newton,

We`re already doing it and only thing eunchs like you can do is cry and shout to the world like ``Help me get my Kashmir`` or pick up Ak47 and cross the the line, only to be zapped like a mosquito with a repellant.

I think Pakis not accepting LOC will eventually work out on India`s advantage. It would be easier for tomrrow`s stronger India to recover POK.

What an insightful analysis and blissful realization! Bravo Psychic Newton!

Though you missed a few points
...that the Earth is flat laid out like a carpet by Allah
...that Jehad is the only way forward to re-establish muslim empire
...that Musharraf is an agent of extremist Hindus sent to destroy Pakistan
...that Kashmir is about to fall in your mouth by the time you yawn next time
...that kafirs have no right to live on planet earth
...that kafirs will burn in hell and till they live, earth will turn into hell for them

``as at present, provided it shall be open to any community at any time to abandon its separate electorate in favor of a joint electorate.``

Selective quoting is the only way people like Gandiv can win any argument...

Even when the whole point is taken at its face value, its still not secular.
Now don`t tell me that since congress agreed to them at the time, it becomes irrelavent.

Jinnah was anything but secular, apparently overly cynic.

Abouth the demands; these were opposed by the Hindus. But what is significant is that they were also rejected by the Simon Commission. The Simon Commission, which was by no means unfriendly to the Muslims, gave some very cogent reasons for rejecting the Muslim demands. It said:—

``This claim goes to the length of seeking to preserve the full security for representation now provided for Muslims in these six provinces and at the same time to enlarge in Bengal and the Punjab the present proportion of seats secured to the community by separate electorates to figures proportionate to their ratio of population. This would give Muhammadans a fixed and unalterable majority of the general constituency seats in both provinces. We cannot go so far. The continuance of the present scale of weightage in the six provinces could not—in the absence of a new general agreement between the communities—equitably be combined with so great a departure from the existing allocation in Bengal and the Punjab.

``It would be unfair that Muhammadans should retain the very considerable weightage they enjoy in the six provinces, and that there should at the same time be imposed, in face of Hindu and Sikh opposition, a definite Muslim majority in the Punjab and Bengal unalterable by any appeal to the electorate. . . .``

Notwithstanding the opposition of the Hindus and the Sikhs and the rejection by the Simon Commission, the British Government when called upon to act as an arbiter granted the Muslims all their demands old and new.

...Representation of communal groups shall continue to be by means of separate electorate...

This is definitely not secular.

13. No cabinet, either central or provincial, should be formed without there being a proportion of at least one-third Muslim ministers.

Even though the muslim population is 0% in the state?
Even though there aren`t any capable muslims in the state?

Any you call Jinnah secular? Do you even know the definition of the word secular?

Don,

...i am asking you kindly to withdraw your last comment...

I will be willing to withdraw my last statement, if you show me one muslim majority country
* where non-muslims are treated equally
* whose government is truly secular i.e. not Islamic.
* that has come forward to denounce any other muslim country where non-muslims are being persecuted
(Murphy`s law: No muslim country will ever denounce another muslim country for mis-treating it`s non-muslim civilians, whereas every muslim country will cry it`s heart out when muslims anywhere in the world are being boned).

* where non-muslim population has grown (in size of population) and prospered with the peace that you`re claiming Islam stans for.

Look at saudis, an exemplary nation for all muslim countries; they don`t allow a single inch of place in saudi arabia for non-muslims to pray.....

....and the same hypocrites fund jehadi factories spewing poisonous ideology around half the globe.

What is Secular Islam?

A secular hogwash....
A myth....
An amnesia.... hat would hopefully keep non-muslims sleeping while in dar-ul-harb, youe fifth coulmn is busy changing demographics by breeding like rabbits under the guise of secularism.

You showed the true color of Islam, an extreme murdurous ideology unleashed by a paedophile.

Those who say ``Islam is a religion of peace``, miss the rider, peace for muslims only. Kafirs are destined to be charred in hell as mentioned in the murder manual.

kaura,

Kashmir`s problem is its muslim majority, their proximity to paki jehadis and secular hijdapan of central leadership in Delhi.

10 Lakh muslims in Kashmir are whining while being pampered whereas 10 crore muslims elsewhere in India have learned to live with it, of course excluding aberrations like Fuzzy.

We need to find a long lasting solution for all of these illnesses.

Friend,

Only thing I want is for these idiots to stop claiming that Pakistan is not involved in Kashmir.

They are not idiots, but devout muslims, as lying to kafirs is officially approved in Islam and considered legitimate.

Arjun,

So let me get this straight...the paki army fails to recover siachen and fails to hold on to kargil and they still get medals?

I am sure there must be many more loosers in there who got medals for the brave surrender to Indian army 71.

Manto,

The point dear man is that I agree... unabashed bigotry comes first... and syntax second.. you got problems with both...

Glad that we agree.

And you`re damn right I have problems with both, becuase this jumbled load of crap by Fuzzy got neither syntax nor factual accuracy....it just stinks of adolescent mischief designed to further the agenda of some jehadi nuisance.

If you are relaly Dalit Indian,
Stop being a weakling...stand on your own feet...get yourself out of ``Dal``.
Your baby-cries are no excuse to condoning gruesome ethnic cleansing of Kashmiris from their ancestral land.

Can our Fary begum please find from her sources how much of her statistics can be attributed to Islamic society and culture? .

As per Fuzzy logic, you`ll have to wait till eternity for any answer from the ``chowk-approved`` intelleactual writer, let apart the credibility of her sources.

#116 Manto,
Linguistic style and syntax comes second to factual errors and unabashed bigotry, no?

As far as debating goes, wasn`t Muhammad completely unable to debate with Medinans?

And hence followed the long and deep saga of trechery, loot, murder, pillage, rape, plunder and anhilation; Persecution of Kashmiri pundits, hence fits the bill for koranic (in)justice.

Fuzzy is not far from the path, as her signature runaway from factual confrontation has become infamously familiar.
