Shah Rukh Khan and the Seductive World of Indian Cinema
Posted by ayesha5 Nov 18, 2007 01:07 am
He is the "Baachaa" (King) of bollywood. Will look for that book... though there is nothing I don't know. In other words I know the book would have nothing new about him...:-)but still it is fun reading about him.
Saawariya Targets Eternal Love

Saawariya will bomb at the box office. In the festive season (and usually otherwise) people avoid subtle movies. We have an example of Lamhe and Silsila. People will instead prefer to watch typical hindi formula film Om Shanti Om. Moreover SLB's fetish with incorporating too many songs is going to test the patience of viewrs. The film is his shortest ever with too many songs and a very thin storyline. I like a couple of songs though, Shabnamee Si and MashaAllah.
Book: Maps for Lost Lovers by Nadeem Aslam

I agree it is not an easy book to read... since it is very descriptive and requires loads of patience. But I kept reading it and then I was totally absorbed in it.
The story line is very thin and there aren't any twist and turns... in fact it is understood since the beginning who the killers are but I think the way the writer has explained the surroundings, lives and other things is something that grips your imagination. The writer definitely has an immaculate observation.
The Quest

This story seems so real .It happens everywhere; exactly a year ago, on 14th of August, someone dumped a baby boy in the drain in our street. We have been living here since 22 years and nothing of sort ever happened so that shocked us all.

I liked the theme of this story... it is very poignant, as far the way it has been put together is fine… I think it could have been better.

A simple prose, that you read with eyes enters your heart and stirs your mind… It is stupendous with out a doubt.
Can we expect more from you in future? :-)
