Political Quandary in Pakistan
I think you have a great point, although one thing to add. The judiciary should not be completely independent....it needs to be controlled via checks and balances as well....
Take the American System of Government for example, The three parts of the government work via checks and balances...like three corners of a triangle....The President...The Congress...The Judiciary!
President nominates the judges.....Congress confirms them......Judges uphold the constitution and keep both Congress and President in check....

Mr. Zeemax,
I never announced that whether I am a passive or active gay.
Thats for me to know, and for you to never find out!
I thought when someone was gay, he or she was just gay!
When did I invite men to be my sexual partners here?
Do you have any proof or you just pull things out of your behind to fling your crap!
Each time you do, you show your littleness!
Not just in mental stature but also where it counts the most for a man....
Does it make you feel like more of a "MAN" to pick on the likes of me and others?
Does flinging your oral feces give your impotency a lift Viagra could never provide.....
and does it make your member really engorged and stiff to dehumanize some people on chowk and call them with labels.....
Tsk tsk tsk
How pathetic truly....
Oh grow up, please!
Henceforth, You are being ignored by me.

Dear Mr. Zeemax,
I never claimed any proclivities..............
You only assumed what your dirty mind wanted to.....
Its You who is obsessed with man-holes and their uses....
Not me...
I never accused anyone of doing anything "right" or "wrong" with their hole..
Frankly, its their personal business...
Honestly, I really don't care either way whether you remove the ten foot pole from your hole....or whether it even exists!
Its none of my business!!!!!
and I would advise you to refrain from making assumptions about people you know nothing about.

Now how would you know that.
Perhaps Zardari believes in tilling his Munkooha Kheti backwards and fowards....
and secondly,
Zeemax Sahib,
Didnt your mother or grandmother teach you that if you cant speak with the hole just below your nose, you shouldn't speak with the other one.
and thirdly, are you the official expert on holes, and their myriad uses?
fourthly, we are all given orifices for various purposes. I use mine for whatever pleases me, as it is my body and my unalienable right to do so....
But you on the other hand, Sir; Use yours the way you seem fit, and by God, I dont even want to think about that.....

Political Quandary in Pakistan
These people fixated on our defunct constitution.
Is this the same constitution that has been manipulated, toyed with, poked, prodded, and changed since its inception by our very leaders...
and this constitution is not the original one if I remember, I guess it dates back from 1973.....after we lost East Pakistan.

Political Quandary in Pakistan
I am so glad that people like you and Nadeem Paracha exist.
I am so sick of these champions of Pakistani Rights...the so called Judiciary of Pakistan and the lawyers constantly screaming murder at President Musharraf and the army....
Yes, Military rule is not the greatest thing....but I would take Musharraff over Mohtarma and Caliph Nawaz Sharif any day......
Both Mohtarma and Mr. Shariff should be barred from taking part in Pakistani elections...
Yes, we are at a loss as a People....
Yes, we are a failed state.....
and if not Musharraf, then whom?
Could it be someone who is a political moderate.....An enlightened being who would do away with the ills plaguing Pakistani society....
perhaps a prayer at this time,
"O Allah, You do not change the condition of a people who do not change themselves, but still, I beseech thee so that you may cause a great leader to rise up from within the ranks of our ailing society in great pain."
"O Allah, Create compassion within us as a nation"
"O Allah, Let us fight towards justice for the weak, the poor, and the downtrodden"
"O Allah, Let us be guided by your infinite wisdom and have mercy on our nation and our people".
"O Allah, We ask you to heal our spirits, and mend our psychological wounds, and we ask your forgiveness for our transgressions against each other".
"O, Allah! In your holy name we beg for your mercy. Grant us Peace everlasting".

Cholesterol Say Paak
I so totally agree with you.
Where are all these lawyers and the Judiciary when things that really matter to the democratic spirit of Pakistan matter. Our women......and the Repealing of the Hudood ordinance. Where is the Shor and Ha ha Kaar?
What democracy?
Benazir Bhutto was a farce during her first and second rule!
What did her democracy accomplish for Pakistan?
I dont know of any other woman far removed from the reality of the common people she so represents....I remember when she first came to Pakistan to contest Elections after the demise of Zia ul Haq, she couldnt even speak the language of the people properly........Her accent of Urdu and grammar were both atrocious......
She promised us great 5 year education programs and stabilized inflation.........
Yeah Right.....The poor still dont get the education they deserve...Which member of a provincial or national assembly sends their children to public schools....
And Inflation...yeah...It sky rocketed during her tenure of greatness and the golden age of democracy she ushered in after Zia Ul Haq....
The Champion of the people......Mr. Nawaz Sharif wasnt even worse.
Nawaz Sharif almost got us declared a terrorist state during Clinton Era. His family filled its coffers, polluted Punjab with Ittifaq foundaries waste, paid no taxes and robbed the uncivil folk blind.....
Yes, this is the democracy the judiciary wants......
Democracy in a place where Might makes Right.....
and I am not talking about the strong arm of the army....
I am referring to the industrialists and Jagirdaars who rest their behinds in the halls of our provincial and federal governments.
I just dont know that who will raise their voice for Pakistan's Silent Majority.....
Its WOMEN........
Its mothers, daughters, sisters, wives, mistresses, whores, saints.
Perhaps that day, I will think all these lawyers are fighting for something worth fighting.......
otherwise we will again have a "DEMOCRACY" where a despot idiot will almost declare himself a Caliph.and Pakistan a terrorist state
or a woman with nothing in common with the Pakistani people will rule riding the waves of her controversial father....

The Wild Side Of The Mall
I remember my paternal grandfather's showroom on the Mall opposite Masjid e Shuhada ( the round marble clad mosque with pierced jalis for walls). Going down the block to Kim Mun Chinese Restaurant, climbing the narrow staircase and enjoying really good chinese food. Coming from School to my Dada Aboo's shop and then walking over to corner of Beadon Rd to those dry fruit shops to get a snack.
The Mall Road always filled me with awe in my childhood especially near the Punjab Assembly and the Wapda building. I remember one day I was at my grandfather's shop and there were people everywhere...my grandfather telling me that the late Imam Khomeini is visiting lahore.
and oh yes, the numerous trips to the Chiddiya Ghar or Zoo just around the corner.
Me and my Dadi Ammi used to go walk in Lawrence Gardens every morning in the early eightees. She would send me to the Jasmine bushes to pick up fallen Blossoms so that she could put them her in rumaal.
During Jamun season we would stop near the Jamun trees and pick the ripe fruit fallen on the ground, or we would pick Kumruch fruit near the library.
Looking back at my childhood in Lahore, I must say in many ways it was magical because I was in Lahore with access to the many beautiful places in Lahore.
The Mall, The Fortress, The Main Boulevard Gulberg, The Neher, RaceCourse Park, The Zoo and Lawrence Gardens, the Museum, Punjab University and so much more....
Sub kuch kitna badal gaya hai..... aur hum bhi....
