Being Imrana

Re: # 42

Most laughable is the suggestion that we learn from Turkey! This when Kofi Annan requests India to lease constitutional experts to help in writing constitutions for Iraq, Afghanistan and other African nations. No doubt an Indian presence will greatly enhance the moral authority of the panel because of the goodwill and respect India has in Iraq and Afghanistan. But it also reflects the quality of Indian constitutional gurus.

My opinion is that it remains a domestic matter till they come out and seek redressal from societal law. And even after that if they go back and settle their dispute then arun jaitleys, deoband mullahs, law, police and the courts have no business to interfere.

Since the author mentioned Nisha Sharma: What if she had decided to go ahead with the marriage and withdrawn her statement? Do the courts and the police have locus standi then? So..

The Woman on the Tracks

Jawahara,

A few summers ago I had to take the crushed remains of a victim only to be declared `brought dead`. There were many onlookers but there were helpers too. And that autowalah who wouldnt take money. With billion people, life`s cheap here yes, but not THAT cheap.

The dying woman thoughts were poignant read.

``Jism jab khatm ho aur rooh ka saans aaye..
mujhse ek kavita ka vada hai milegi mujhko`` ( Really haunting in ABs voice)

Cheers

Doesnt the rich bitch understand that Togadia, Advani and Thackrey are not the Hindu Trinity and they dont represent the prevailing Hindu sentiments. Or even that they are not blaming muslims but Pakistan and cross-border terrorism. Didnt she ever met any Hindu who`s not a Ram-bhakt or a Bajrangdali. Hasnt she known any Shaivaits who have little patience for Krishna leelas and will only ever identify Nataraja as the Ultimate Reality. Did she ever think that the You in her `You and I` could be plural and ``as different as they can ever be``.
Does the rich bitch even thinks before she writes..

Actually, there`s no way you can train for suicide bombing. That`s because, whatever your religion, you die only once. All you can do is to wear bombs and then rely on the dangerous streak of self-destruction that`s so unique of your faith.

We heard that Paki slogan of bleeding India with thousand cuts. If anyone still has any doubts just read #111. And this same guy was lecturing us on secularism in his initial posts. Fcuking lunatic!

Ya correct. You dont have anything to lose expect your miserable lives. Please wait till our men come and relieve you of your kashmakash. But meanwhile we want the US to reverse its approach and put the stick in your mouth and the carrot you know where.

See they hate everything, every achievement of India. Silicon valley, Stock market you name it.
Ban on Play Mr. Jinnah

Arvind,

If you`re going to do it please give a role to Mantolives in your play. Jinnah liked pets? Dogs maybe? Or perhaps you can stage ``Ek Gadhe ki atma katha`` and give Mantolives the lead role. Already he`s doing a great job of making an ass of himself.

Cheers

This has nothing to do with Indian muslims. They just chose Ayodhya over Kalighat, Kashi, Somnath, Tirupati, Siddhivinayak temple etc.

Basically, they hate our freedom. Our free society and our democracy. They hate India just as they hate America. They wont willingly kill Indian muslims but if it happens then its the will of Allah. Like in Iraq where both occupying and resistance forces treat the civilians as collateral damage. Suicide bombing is a faith in itself.

It`s out now. The attackers were Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/articleshow/1161887.cms

excerpts:

~~~~~~~~~~
Tuesday’s Ayodhya attack is a deadly reminder of Lashkar-e-Toiba’s core ideology — it goes well beyond opposing India’s sovereignty in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the South Asia Terrorism Portal, the Lashkar’s agenda, as outlined in a pamphlet titled, ‘Why Are We Waging Jihad’, includes the restoration of Islamic rule over all parts of India.
~~~~~~~~~~

It`s clear that it`s not about J&K. Just their plain hatred for the `Other`. They`ve attacked the Parliament. Now they`re attacking hindu religious places. Next they`ll be suicide bombing kindergarten kids. Nothing is off for these crazed islamic terrorists. If Pakistan is sincere about peace then they stop exporting terrorism into India.

Re: # 108

I read this the day it was published and dropped it. I never saw your post #48 and rest. I did notice that your last post was reproduced but my point was why did you have to choose THAT article over others?

I may have jumped the gun about the article being inspired by Imrana, but this should only be expected since I`ve stopped caring about what I`m reading in your articles.

Nice post Ms FV. When there`s so much written about Imrana everywhere do you have to go to that Arab News for an update? Would you want us to believe that the said fatwa was never issued by Dar-ul-Uloom? This article you say was inspired by Imrana case but nowhere does it notes the prejudice in islam and muslims.

I understand a writer`s desire to be read and respected. I also understand the importance of contrarian view and unique position of being a `fly in the soup`. But when its overdone people stop taking you seriously. For the same reasons I dont like Swaminathan Aiyar`s column in Times. But at least his columns can be accepted and appreciated as part of an academic discourse.

So while Mr Aiyar comes across as an academic trying to be oversmart and outwit others, your articles tend to be what they really are - rantings of high emotion and low quotient.

Enigma of the Defence Budget

In India defence spending is handled by Defence Accounts Dept which falls under the Ministry of Defence. DAD is solely responsible for disbursing funds, salaries and pensions, maintaining accounts and conducting audits. Officers are completely civilian though they can avail benefits of military canteens for subsidised goods. Resident officers are also provided with army quarters within cantonment or military base. I wont say that there`s no corruption or financial misappropriation within DAD but the nature of the game is entirely unlike Pakistan`s.

And the sex ratio in Punjab and Haryana. An appalling 830s compared to national average of 936 to 1000 men.

Iranian Puzzle

VanGogh,

Wish it were that easy. Our `vulgar` movies are really such a huge hit in Pakistan and people like Ahmedmadani who just cant have enough of it. And whatever their religion Arabs have a keen sense of history and they credit the entire subcontinental history and its civilisational baggage to India only. And with good reason too since Pakis dont seem to want it. Iran and Iraq for instance, have had traditional ties with India for over a millenia and their people, particularly shiite community, have great appreciation and respect for India and her people. India would have been an full OIC member long back if not for repeated objections from Pakistan. Last time was in `98 and it was Saudi Arabia -yes, thats correct- who tabled it in OIC but yet again shot down by Pakistan.

And you still have Ahmendmadanis who wonder why his muslim brethren in Arab and elsewhere dont respect Pakis and their passports.
