Saudi Government to Demolish Prophet Muhammed’s home

#116, {``but is derived from Elohim which was what Abraham is supposed to have called god... ``}

Manto,
At least we agree on this one. :)

Also, as I pointed out in my earlier post on this topic, Jesus is reported to have said in Aramaic ``Ilahi, Ilahi, La ma sabakhtian`` while dying on the cross.

Allah must be related to Elohim, Ilahi

Rozaiba, {``Much like Pakistan’s rulers, he had no visionary aspirations.``}

I hope you are referring to Pakistan`s discredited ``liberal, democratic, and progressive`` leaders such as ZAB, BB, Nawaz Sharif, etc.

Very good article.

Veeresh, {``And for what it is worth, which is a lot, it is a great contribution to Independent India that those who do not wear uniforms and may be communal themselves, made sure that those in uniform remained secular, too.``}

Thank you for sharing such positive thoughts with all of us. Armed forces can be an insurance against tyranny or a cause of it. India, as you correctly pointed out, has been very fortunate in this regard. However, I think it is much more than mere dumb luck. It is the very difficult commitment to tolerance, that Indians have painstakingly safeguarded, that creates the climate for this cherished outcome. Even Indira`s ``emergency`` in the 70s was not able to convince the military to change its time-honored role.

Tolerance for dissent and respect for individual rights are the twin pillars that protect civilized societies from the onslaught of fascism, militarism, and theocratic rule. Just look at Chowk, for example. You once noted, some years ago, that Chowk was a meeting place of all sorts of characters with freedom to say what`s on their minds. The sad fact is that the opposite is true. Chowk is an oligarchy of favored interactors, Chowk Staff pets, and selected ``brahmins.`` When dissenters are discovered, they are tagged, deleted, and finally banned with insidious attempts to ban them from even accessing the website. In real life, these Chowkmasters would have resorted to threats, arrest, exile, and if necessary death.

Yes, I do appreciate India much more since coming to Chowk. More than its economic strides, more than its movies, more than its military might, more than its numerous beautiful tourist destinations, I admire India`s commitment to tolerance, fairness, and freedom of speech. Jai Hind. :)

Nabendu: {``Then the Manager arrived with a great big form, checked my religion (Hindu) in my passport, and then made me fill out the form which ended in a declaration that the alcohol was needed by me for medicinal purposes.``}

Pakistan may have a very low literacy rate, but there is no shortage of forms. This one reminds me of the one used for obtaining passports. It requires the person to swear that he/she is a Muslim, believing in the ``finality of the prophethood of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)`` and it goes on to state that one is not belonging to the Ahmedi or Qadyani heretics.`` :)

There was another one for exemption from Zakat, where one declared to be member of Shia sect and therefore not under obligation to pay. Amazing at how many Omars, Siddiques, Osmans, Ayeshas, and Farooqs filled that form out. :)

Kaura #69, {``lliterate handful ruling and dictating over majority of educated muslims - what crap.``}

Kaura,
Pakistan, for most of its existence, has been ruled by a minority of special interest groups - landlords, liberal oligarchs, miitary dictators, provincial interests, Saudi agents, and now it may be the Mullah`s turn.

Rsridhar #61, {`` but the underlying problem is the deep hatred of Hindus in that country. This hatred is institutionalised and is a common theme in Pak.``}

Sridhar Bhai,
Here I will have to disagree with you slightly. While your comment may have been valid many many years ago, for some time now, Pakis have become more interested in hating each other - Ahmedis, Shias, Ismailis, etc. They really don`t have much time or energy for hating Hindus, Sikhs, and Christians. Jews, of course, are a conveninent catch-all for all that is wrong in the world. This view is reinforced by Wahabbi Arab propaganda, which really motivates most Sunni Mullahs and their followers.

Inquirer #58, {``From various comments here it can be easily inferred that a large section of educated Muslims look down upon the Mullahs. It baffles me, however, to find the tremendous influence the Mullahs and their supporters exercise on Muslim population.
WHAT IS THE SOURCE OF THIS DICHOTOMY? HOW HAVE THE FUNDAMENTALISTS SUCCEEDED IN COMPLETELY OBFUSCATING THE EDUCATED MUSLIMS??``}

Mr. Inquirer,
You are asking some very important and relevant questions of our time. Please don`t judge Paki public opinion from interactions on Chowk. Many of the Pakis interacting here represent the English-oriented upper class of Defence, Isloo, and Gulberg (I may be exaggerating here, but not by much. :) ). The so-called English-educated ``liberal, progressive`` Pakis are just a facade. When it comes to reality, they are mostly the feudals, upper military brats, and scions of privileged industrialists. For example, conversing with western journalists, Benazir Bhutto appears to be the polished, sensible, Oxford-educated, forward-looking, and progressive female. Well, in reality, Oxford or Wellsley or not, she is just another Paki feudal landlord. She has kept her own serfs down, whether male or female and the image of Nabendu`s feudal host placing his shoes on top of 30 eager heads is quite apropos here. These liberal Pakis are just dying to get back into power so they can reimpose their oligarchy that can provide them the black money that empowers them to behave the way they do. Democracy, freedom of expression, and women`s rights are slogans that they use to get into power. As evidenced by the selective censorship on Chowk, these oligarchs want no part of democracy or any freedoms, once they are in power.

As for the Mullahs, they provide an alternative to the discredited ``liberal`` oligarchs. Once can only look at the Tally Bans and just imagine what life in Pakistan will be like if they ever attain power. In fact NWFP and Baluchistan are experiencing the future now.

Given these two harsh choices, is it any wonder that patriotic Pakis and those without any ulterior agenda are thankful to have Mushy in power. For how long? We do not know, all we can do is pray and hope.

Sorry I have to interact as ``Premwalla,`` thanks to the Paki Chowk Staff working diligently to enforce the Paki sense of selective censorship.

Anyway, I think that the article is a genuine anecdote depicting one person`s experiences after visiting several different cities in Pakistan. He did, however, go on a business trip and was restricted by the class of people he met.

Romair #54, {``So far we have four (?) Indian travelogues of Pakistan. Two have been very positive (this one and Stuka). One has been relatively positive (dost-mittar). And one has been negative (Vereesh). 75% is not a bad record``}

I think that we are batting a full 100%. Please don`t be so harsh on Veeresh. While I had a lot of fun dueling with him about his travelogue, I found Veeresh to be among the most interesting of the Batutas. Stuka`s was up there too in keeping our interest with very amusing details. Veeresh took the time to detail, in an infinite number of serials, his forays into West Punjab. I read with great enthusiasm his accounts as he progressed up the GT Road from Lahore to Pindi. I found that I could relate to his journals because I have made the same trip on land before.

NHK #39 {``There is no shortage of Bear thanks to Murree Brewery``}

Why do you think that Veeresh keeps coming back? It is for the Bear. And the Bear is always ready - waiting for Veeresh to take a detour anywhere near Jhelum. :)
BTW, Mr. NHK, what does the Murree Brewery have to do with it?

Soulat #41, Thank you for letting us know that the sweet nectar still flows in Pakistan. Due to an ill-advised promise I have not had a drink since May of this year. But, it`s worth it. :)

Rsridhar #55 {``You go to Pak and are treated royally and then come home singing paens about your host, forgetting what the realities of living in Pak are like. ``}

Very well stated. Pakis (and many Muslims all over the world) have this trait of excessive hospitality, especially when it comes to adversaries, or even enemies. I think the reason is that they feel that their ``shaan`` is at stake and impressing the ``guests`` is an important strategy in imposing their ``superiority.`` They don`t treat their own with such generosity.

By the way, I am against ALL capital punishment. :)

Thanks,

Salim Chauhan

#99, Ya Shaikh Taleb Bin Sood, Amir-ul-Kullul Kelbiyeen, Light of the World (200 watts!)

Assalaam-o-Alaikium wah Rahmatullah was Barkatuhu,

Your Footcandleship:

Shukran for your kind response to my steamed colleague, Sayyad Hamidm, Do Number Walla. All I can say at this time is ``Lahore Vilayet Kuwait. :( ``

Sayyad Hamidm Doyam merely asked for preservation of old house of Holy Prophet (PBUH) in Medain. My extinguished friend did not plead for long venom-filled lecture on habitat of converted Indoos bashing head on walls while listening to Qawwalis and going wee wee on mazaars after drinking bhang and smoking hash.

Also you invoke name of ``Allahdamn`` in our business. Some of us Persianized converted Indoos prefer to say ``Khudadamn`` instead, but that is another problem. I must remind you that the word ``Qawwal`` is Arabic in origin - I am, of course, no entymologist, because I do not specialize in study of incest. You called us converted Indoos ``perverted heathens.`` May I also remind you that you are the perverted people who taught us to go jiggy jiggy with our own cousins. I remember you very well from Houston nightclubs, when you were student at Oakey from Fanokey school in Oklahoma. You know why Texas does not fall into Gulf of Mexico? Because Oklahoma sucks.

You go ahead build Walmart, Kmart, Dunkin Donuts, or anyother American franchised structure, you can even build your own Bunny Ranch for all we care. After all, we have Heera Mandi in Lahore and have major expansion project that will tear down the Fort, the Badshahi Mosque, Ranjit Singh`s resting place, and Iqbal Sialkoti`s Khwabgah. You can build your own fast food joint with drive through and high canopy for camel traffic. It`s your country Khuda Dammit!

In closing, I would like to say that one day I hope to pour my sacred Indoo urine on your resting place. But I hear that you Wahobbies don`t mark your grave, so I won`t know where to aim. Well, good move on your part. Too bad, Americans don`t care about your dexterity at debauchery as long as you have that slippery oily rectum.

Khuda (How do you like that, you Arab?) Hafiz ya Shaikh Habibi wa Tarqa al-Kelbi.

Salim ``Converted Indoo`` Chauhan :)

Tahmed Sahib #480, {``Let us just agree to disagree, but I hope you will give some thought to what i wrote in #418 - I wish you all the best in real life AND on chowk (unlike those on chowk who cant stand it when you are at your best on chowk.)``}

Sir,
Thank you for your kind words. Chowk Staff, in their usual sophomoric measures to control discussion and to ban dissenters, have tried to block my IP address. These imbeciles do not understand that I have access to numerous IP addresses, not to mention nics. Now do you understand why we have to resort to multiple nics and access methods, just to be heard?

Regardless, my work on Chowk is completed. In addition to others, e.g. Omar, Echoboom, Dehliwalla, Chusni, and Mr. Montag, I have exposed Chowk Management and Staff to be hypocrites, frauds, and oppressors of free speech.

I will now depart from Chowk to focus my efforts in the real world.

I want to thank all my good friends on Chowk for their friendship and support.

Khuda Hafiz, Au Revoir, A Dios, Sayonara, Sat Sari Akal, Namaste, Good Bye, and Patu Patu Hari Hari to everyone. :)

As they say in Northwestern Bulgaria, may all your bowel movements be effortless. :)

{``Salim … You are mean and atrocious, and make no bones about it. What gives? And be nice to me. My mother-in-law is visiting, and I could use some fu cking sympathy … you know … ``}

Sattar Bhai Do Numberwalle,

I lost the ``Confronting Terrorism`` board - so here`s my reply.

Itni der maaN bataat ho ke tumri susri saas tumre pas awat he. Bhayya, humka maaf kardeyyo, humka bilkool na maaloom tha ke tumri aisee gut huwat he. :)

You have all my sympathy - with or without fornicationary adjectives. :)

You can have atrocious but not mean. Atrocious sounds pretty damn important - like a Roman Consul or something. I will have to look that one up. :)

I don`t have a mother-in-law problem myself. Mine happens to be my grandma`s sister and therefore has some compassion for me as a blood relative. :)

Sorry for the multiple nic, but someone on Chowk is signing me off whenever I log in with my own Salim_Chauhan nic. Jab jab hum lag karate heN, koi murdawa susra humka ``thein thein`` lagaff kar deit he. :(

Salim.

Ash, Buddy,
Did you just get up? Get that cup of tea (or coffee) first.
I have no reservations against the poem. Sorry I said that it praises Durga Mai - didn`t mean anything sinister, mister.
I respect both Durga Mai and Mother India.

{``I`m not? :)``}

Arjun (If that is indeed you, sir?),
I know that Khamkhwa has been able to post messages by masquerading as Mr. Hindvi - apparently there is some hanky-panky going on with inside help from Chowk Staff.
So, I do not believe that you are the originator of that script that searches for Dalit and logs him off. It`s happeniing to me too as Salim_Chauhan - and you would not do that to me, not unless your nic has been hijacked by Khamkhwa and/or JohnGalt aka JagdeeshJhootbole.
