Words of a Woman
Posted by ullu_ka_pathha Dec 3, 2005 03:48 pm
I hate ``Cold Mountain`` aaaaaaaaarrrrrrghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!( :- To hell with ``accountancy``.
You chowkies have pathetic taste as far as movies are concerned. If quoting other writers is called writing then anyone can become a great writer overnight.I have reserved this technique for emergency situations ;-).I can also compile the list of male or female writers from a couple of anthologies in my possession as a proof of my ``literacy`` level but i have to bring aaloo, teenday, anday, tamatar from the nearby convenience store.
You just have to seperate good writers from hypochondriacs putting their anxieties and frustrations in words, painting doomsday scenarios, scaring the shit out of the poor ``readers`` thus help spreading the panic and despair lurking their own lives. All good writers have a ``feel good`` index as far as readers are concerned and stand out as gems among the heaps of garbage being produced or published both electronically and in print on daily basis. It is the ``persuasive`` writers, who try to push certain vested interests or political motives are to be avoided if possible.I read for entertainment and learning rather than to become a pawn in the hands of words juggler.

joy!!! bangla

A Love Affair with Lahore
Posted by ullu_ka_pathha Dec 2, 2005 11:47 am
Once you have spent time here you get addicted to the city.If Karachi is fast, Lahore reveals itself slowly and gracefully with all of its mystic past, bazaars, foggy December nights and what not.Ibn-e-Insha once wrote a poem for Karachi which was something like that

``Meri khwahishon ka Roma, Meri hasraton ki dilli``
``Mujhe aur kaun jaane,Mujhe aur kaun pehchaane``
``Tu hi de tau de gawahi,Ae balda-e-Karachi``

Kudos to Bina ji for this tribute to the city in prose (Lapait lapait ke maar rahi hain).
This city has something for everyone from pauper to the prince.
Cheers to Lahore ``The city with a soul``.

A Place Like No Other?

I wan`t to put my opinion on these points

1. America being mainly a multicultural society is prone to such remarks and slurs of racism or discrimination. There will always be misunderstandings and conspiracy theories regarding ehtnicities or communities like Italians running the mafias or Blacks doing nothin but rap music drugs or looting.Thinking positively is a healthy human trait. Why not think of the Al Pacinos, De Niros, Armani, Gucci, Martin Luther King or Maya Angelou etc.
You are giving justification to the statement that ``all rich people are blood suckers of the poor and the poor have the divine right to share their wealth``.Typical beggary in disguise or what you call the ``Aid`` to the poor portraying the rich countries as colonial looters or plunderers of the poor nations.

2. Linking poverty with the terrorrism is like giving a ``license to kill`` to all the poors of the world that you are free to kill anyone whom you think is responsible for your miseries or lash out your hatred on them, thus taking back the civilised societies to the days of Tribal or clan based warfare. The killing of innocent people due to whatever crooked or twisted ideology one may have is simply a crime against humanity and must be condemned at all levels humanitarian or political. This modern day world of ours have become so much brutalised and violent that we have to seriously restore the dignity of human life.In thirld world societies whether African, Latin American or Asian people are dying by hundreds and thousands as a result of wars or ethnic cleansings but who is to blame for this? Rich countries or the sleeping mass conscience of their people. To suffer injustice silently and not raising your voice is a bigger crime than the injustice itself. The people will have to choose that will they submit to the ``I`` of the dictators or take charge of their own destinies by rising to the ``we`` the people.America may be accused of the ``crimes`` you have mentioned but it has always held its promise of freedom, equality and justice for all.To what extent the individuals benefit from it is their own effort and fate.

3. The strong and exemplary American political system is matchless as far as democratic traditions and values are concerned. It has proved its effectiveness and welfare of the people over decades.America has always been dragged into the war be it the pearl harbor or 9/11 otherwise an average American is a jolly, decent and God fearing fellow.I`ll say that she is suffering from the sibling jealousy of ugly ducklings of our global family, simple as that. You can put that in whatever political masquerade or theory you want.

Freeeeeeeeedommmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!.

This nerve wrecking ``noise`` and shrieks produced by the so called young and aspiring artists can not be called music.Where have rythm and melodies gone?.After Nazia Zoheb,Vital Signs, Arshad Mehmood`s composings and Sajjad Ali there is no one in near sight who can genuinly prove his worth.Fuzon is a good change otherwise there is a ``balatkaar`` of sangeet going on these days in the name of music.
If you have a ``feel`` for the thing you can create music out of the steel and iron.Remember that movie where the guy creates a tap dancing group out of construction workers?

``Learning by doing `` is much better way of imparting knowledge.I can still recall those long lecture hours of my college days when whole class was sleeping except two or three nerds.

Good one Tripathhi ji,especially that mutating virus thing.A tiny thing like virus is enough to burst the hyperinflated bubble of our sceintific progress.``GOD,SE PANGA NAEE LENAY KA,KYA?``.
Another thing that makes me wonder is the shear hugeness of the universe.I mean just our solar system would have taken care of all the human curiosity and technical playing field. Why this vast space with billions of stars? and a tiny dot like planet called earth sustaining life.Is this ``wastage of resources`` has some explanation.Does God has some other galactic tasks for us mortal humans.

Who knows? ``Sitaaron se aagay jahaan aur bhi hai......``
I miss you
