I have a story to tell, I heard as a child. In a Timbuktu kind of kingdom everything was sold at a takka (takka ser bhaaji takka ser khaajaa) a kg. An emaciated pair of a seer and his disciple enters this kingdom. Immediately the disciple settles down into eating binge; chocolates, cakes and other stuffs. Seer however sees rat in this bizarre state of affairs and tries to warn his disciple but to no avail. A few months later a murder is committed and assassin apprehended. After due process of law, the king pronounces the sentence, “death by hanging.” All is set for hanging but the hangman finds noose too loose for the killer’s neck. Utter confusion prevails. After some deliberation the kings declares, “A crime has been committed, punishment must be delivered. Find a man whose neck fits the noose.” The only man whose neck fitted the noose was this fattened disciple. There is no moral in this story or is there? A crime is committed therefore ‘some one’ must be punished!
Khaled Ahmed, think about it.

Carl von Clausewitz said that war is extension of politics by other means, I guess we can say business is extension of gansterism by other means or if you want it euphemistically, gansterism is extension of business buy other means.
Communities that are good in business don`t have to try other means.
It seems rather farfetched that Jew’s persecution complex is acquired by design or just a facade skillfully orchestrated by PR. After all Holocaust did happen unless you are President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Why do Pakistanis consider Mahmud Ghazni, Mohammad Ghauri and Aurangzeb Great Muslims?
I know you do operate under 10 different nicks but no point accusing others of being similarly dishonest.

I haven’t heard of a Sikh gangster or a Jain gangster. Perhaps well knit communities reach out to their delinquents, use saam, daam, daNd & bhed to reform them. If nothing works, disown them.

An Unfulfilled Desire
I had a neighbor who went through similar trauma. But more than the pain of not having their own children, their misery was to cope with acquaintances and neighbors constantly being blessed with children. Their attempt at appearing normal and cheerful while congratulating those fortunate couples in the face of knowing/sympathetic glances was a clear give away. At such times probably they would look at heaven and say, spare us this agony Oh! Lord, if you can’t give us our own.
I don’t know what is more painful.

The Modernity Conspiracy
Are technology and modernity synonyms? I don`t think so. Japan isn’t very modern even though technologically very advance. As somebody said, “Modernity is in mind.” Kabir and Nanak were uneducated but very modern but Tulsidas by contrast very educated, yet no less than a Mullah i.e. assuming being Mullah isn’t modern.

Well yes, the radio has no relevance to this story neither those two characters. But you can’t tell a story in just two paragraphs. Think of it as “samaa baaNdhanaa”
Thanks for reading at least.

An Unfulfilled Desire
I don’t know if the need or desire to have babies is organic or hammered down by society in a woman’s psyche. There are successful career women willingly forgoing this option. One thing is certain, unlike spiritual objective of life, biological objective of life is unambiguous procreation.
