Even though most of us know Nadeem is an atheist, Marxist if you please, but I have noticed that in most of his pieces dealing with religious issues he does tend to side with the Berelvi school of Islam. Anyways, yet again another super article, must watch Message again.

Some Signs fans think NFP promoted Rohail more than JJ because NFP & Rohail were Pink Floyd fanatics and loved sharing a joint or too; but then why on Earth did NFP became paly with Salman Ahmed instead of Ali Azmat??

Remember your two other articles in this vain, but they were many yrs ago. One was To V Or Not To V and the other I think On The VS Reunion Trail. This makes a good trilogy. Certainly it was the most meaty.

Top piece, NFP. But did detect a hint of pro-Mush in it. Still can`t understand how a culture Marxist continues to support a military dictator?

Not all big bands in Pakistan are sponsored. As you mentioned yourself, Sajad Ali was never sponsored. But then nor were Alamgir and Nazia Hassan.

Good one. This list of yours is better than your top 20 best and worst Pakistani pop songs one. I found you were a bit too sarcastic and condescending in those articles, even though some of `em really deserved it. This one however seems more balanced and appreciative. And my vote goes to Vital Signs too, even though I was a bigger Junoon fan. But I agree Junoon were finished creatively after Parvaaz.

What was expected from so-called democratic govts of bb and NS is being done by a General. It takes one to undo the other.
The Fundo Chic?
Your take on what you call ``concocted marketing`` is rather brilliant and yes the `Fundo-Chic` does seem to be a marketing concoction of capitalist forces trying to, as you say, trivialize and dilute radical Islam. But I wonder why you think it will not work in subduing this radicalism like it did the radical left.
All in all an interesting read. But hasn`t Ms. Farhat Hashmi left Pakistan for Canada?

And what drama he created by actually POSING that televised pull-out! All that wailing and abusing by the settlers was all posed for the western media.
