Posted by theedge Oct 31, 2005 11:12 pm
Excellent stuff, Ras. Must read it again for further comment. This earthquake shall remain with us for quite some time.
Bye Bye NAM, Hello Realpolitik!

You are not clear what was India`s relationship with Iran during the Cold War. That would have made, at least me, understand India`s most recent policyache.

I don`t think so, NFP. I am not saying I am a believer of this theory but it is true that many third world governments have manufectured mess and turned tragedies into disasters so that they can get a lot more attention and aid than they are first given. And sure the mullahs have been saying this, but I heard it around the Karachi Press Club as well which is known for its progressivism.

# 380 [[These Pakis are all mouth and no effort.]]
Petrhaps, but it`s better than being just ass and no balls.

#386. [[. the subject matter of this board is far more important for it to be taken up by your self-centered complaints about your outrageous claims of ``insults``. ]]
Agree. And how come even when new Indian electronic media is equally full of crap, never have I seen an Indian talking about it. They unlike many Pakistanis take whatever crap that comes to them through Zee, Star or whatever, wholesale, without any questions asked.

Yesterday Al-Queda aired its concern and appeal for the quake victems ... but no aid. Maybe this sudden appeal is thanks to Dr. Shahid Masood`s visions of apocalypse? But where is the beef? Those in need need a lot more than terrorist appealing for help on Al-Jazeera.

Great article. Dry humour that is so very relatable. Well done, Zia.

Azaab, azaab, azaab ... arey bhai, all the shouting of moronic beards tell you `wow.`

Okay, this just in: According to a daily Dawn news report, MMA head, Qazi Hussain Ahmed said, ``We suffered from the earthquake because the President danced on Independence day.`` This one can find on page 4 of today`s Dawn. What a pisser.

I don`t want to hurt your situation, but as a literary piece you could have made this better. But then anything can be made better.
chippalkattigop, what are you babbling about, bhaya? All what you said sounded very interesting, but just couldn`t get it, know what I mean?

escapist, wasn`t Ayaz Amir shib the same dude who one fine day decided to put his revolutionary past on hold and greatefully accept a PML(N) ticket for the 1997 general elections?

lubnaM;
sorry to say this sweetie, but it is people like you that we have people like Aamir Liaqat and Shahid Masood. Spare us the rod, please.

Paracha,
Did you see that show in which Tahir Khan and Rohail Hayaat were sitting with Junaid Jamshed and speaking about Islam and the earthquake? Sign of the apocolypse indeed.

I agree that many Pakistani channels are going a bit overboard with all the ``chest beating`` and ``azaab`` thing, but I think some sanity is now creeping in, the sort that can do much more for the welfare of the victems. I am surprized you mentioned PTV and TV ONE as well. They just don`t count. Geo, ARY and Aaj would have suficed.

... and both were clearly lost by Pakistan as well, even though we still celebrate our ``glorious victory`` in the `65 war.

This shouldn`t reflect the article or story because it was not bad at all, but self criticism in case of Pakistan is nothing new. But then glorified praise aint all that rare either.
HEC Juggernaut and Pervez Hoodbhoy

Mr. Hoodbhoy saw it coming and so did we who follow his works so closely and now it is also our job to back him up as much as we can. More later.
