The Mafia

I agree that a market study and market research is very important before launching anything....whether it is a channel or another kind of product. I also agree that most of the channels don`t have enough material to run and they soon run out of ideas. This is when the quality starts deteriorating. However, having said that, I believe there are some good programmes as well and I only hope that they stay that way.

I also believe that we need training schools for producers, actors, directors etc to refine their raw talent.

Regards.

faylasuf....thanks for the comments and yes I do agree with you to some extent that at the end of the day if you have what it takes then u`ll make a difference. However the `mafia` tries its best to create an obstacle for the natural process of new talent rising up, to take place. By the way when you say that the Pakistani pop industry and Indian film industry are comparable and have similarities....could you please spell them out?

:)

Pardaisi....you seem to be as upset about the problems inherent in our entertainment industry as I am. What makes it worse is that we really do have so much talent but these few people that want to be at the forefront continuously, just don`t give any new talent a break. This is the basic problem in attitude in Pakistan. You have to give room to as many people as possible to flourish and that is what will ensure the prosperity of any industry. Hopefully things will change thought...InshAllah.

asadikhan.....Thank you for appreciating my article.......Unfortunately I am not comfortable with giving my e-mail address out. Kindly post any queries you may have here and I shall be more than happy to address them. Thank you.

No Omar...it is probably the same everywhere but since I know more about the local market...I thought I should restrict my comments to it alone. I just get deppressed when I realise that everything, including art is becoming extremely commercialized. The spirit of it is being killed. Furthermore monopolosing the market and exploiting talent is in abundance.

Kerouac....I was watching the 48th Grammy Awards and the word ``y`all``` stuck in my head...so i kind of used it in my comment here :)
