Fatima Bhutto Fighting for Justice

Very very long but not boring.

'She is sassy and clever, a respected poet and an outspoken columnist in the Pakistani press. She has a razor-sharp mind and a forceful, determined personality.'

I can agree to that based on my email correspondence. She's like a fresh air in Pakistan but wud she ever make it to Islamabad? I doubt it.

We know that Arjun is a difficult person but what's wrong with Arjun's posts 93 & 94? Was it bcos he mentioned Manto?

Is Manto's wife who's editing this site?

+++++

Mr. Safwan Shah,

Why secrecy abt the ppl who edit this site? No magazine - real or Intenet - maintains this secrecy? Have some transparency, plz.

The decision to give up East Pakistan was made well before the 1971 war.

Senna,

Dont worry mate.

++

Lets imagine ourselves in the shoes of the ppl we look down upon. A new world opens up b4 our eyes.

Give others (if we are in that position) what we want for ourselves. We dont need religion or an anciet text to know that. I'd tell the same to Qadianis if they persecute Sunnis in an imaginary world.

Peace.

Bigger landmarks and Smaller landmarks!

There're many sects and subsects of Islam in native arab lands and they are not osctracised there. For example, the Assads of Syria are not true Muslims. They are Alawis BUT they still rule the country without being called non-Muslims.

Get that?

I am trying to oversimplify the 2-3000 yr old shibboleths. If u want me to do hair-splitting arguments on the history of religions, I am ready for it...but there're are intelligent folks around who can do micro-analyses of religous scriptures.

Islam or Qadianism is just another religion. I am averse to any religion and religious dogmas.....I am teflon-like when it comes to religion.

Further:

There're two aspects.

1. Civil rights

2. Religious rights.

I agree that all shud have boh 1&2 in theory. No if and buts.

73,

Wud Qadianis treat Mohammednas differently if the're in Majority? (Pl take a parellel btw Iran and KSA. Tehran has many Synagogues, Gurudwars, Temples but no Sunni Mosque; same wud happen in a Qadiani world). Have u read (recently) how Hizbollah is treating Sunnis in Lebanon?

The basic point is that they're (Mohammedna and Qadianis) flogging the dead horse i.e. a religion that's 'revealed' in a cave by a Jewish angel!

All Qadianis,

Mirza said: "They (non-Ahmadis) are not Muslims, who refuse to believe in the promised Messiah."

If u guys were in majority, u'd do the same thing as these Mohamedans are doing now to ur community. It's only that u r not as powerful as these Mohammedans are!

I read an old artile by Thomas Addison, published in Harvard Theological Review Jan 1929.

It looks like that Mirza wanted to convert all Yehudis to Ahmadiyyat. He not only claimed to be Prophet of Muslims and Christians but also claimed to be incarnation of Krishna in 1904. Wow!

++

All in all:

Mohammedans themselves are the Mirzai-type sect of Jewish religion. The Gentiles i.e. pagan arabs were converted to this new religion by Muhammed. Perhaps he wanted Arabs to follow the superior God of Jews.

Gabriel, Adam, Moses, David, Soloman and Jesus et al were all Jewish (i.e. non-Muslims) and these Mohammedans on Chowk dont agree on that. Even Prophethood is the basic tenet of Judaism.

Muhammed is the first Mirzai! If Muhammed had Shias then Mirzais had Lahoris as their Shias!

History repeats itself!

NKG,

Nehru visited Kerala at the invitation of Namboo but was against the imposition of Art 356. It's reported in the newspapers of that time. (There's widespread unrest in Kerala then).

However the Governor of Kerala Dr. B. Ramakrishna Rao gave his report to the Prez of India. It states interalia:

1. Mass release of prisoners (Commies) who murdered policemen

2. Interference in the police administration (tho laughable as if police and govt is separate)

3. Police interference in labour-management disputes

4. Govt's active backing in left Vs non-left trade unions

5. Meddling with civil service (weak point)

6. Use of govt-aided Co-Op societies in promoting Commie parties

7. Brutality and violent suppresion fo student agitations

8. Enactment of unpopular Education Act (run by Nairs and Christians)

9. Use of govt machinery to consolidate Commie party network

Inspite of the semi-chargesheet of the Governor, I am of the opinion that Nehru erred in dismissing the Namboo govt. However Indira Gandhi (bitch) was instrumental in effecting this dismissal.

Vaibhav,

As a minority living in UK, I can give my view of political scenario in UK.

We have London Mayoral elections recently and the real contest was btw Labour and Tories. There's UK's BJP i.e. British National Party with an agenda similar to our BJP's. Tho their Mayoral candidate managed to enter the London Assembly on the basis of overall votes recvd, he's not treated as another politician by the rest of the Assembly, incl by conservatives. Even Mayor Boris refused to shake hand with the BNP leader.

The BNP's Richard Barnbrook is treated as a big pariah with even Tories NOT SITTING NEXT TO HIM NOR THEY WANT TO TALK TO HIM IN the London Assembly.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article3872821.ece

The mainstream party candidates walked off the stage when Richard Barnbrook stepped up to speak after becoming, early on Saturday morning, the first member of the British National Party to win a seat on the London Assembly. Mr Barnbrook was unpeturbed.

He expects to be treated as a pariah for the next four years, but insists that he will not be cowed. “If I have to be a lone wolf I will be one,” he told The Times.

Mr Barnbrook, 47, said that he intends to become the voice of “true Londoners”, fighting against political correctness and preferential treatment for racial minorities. He will press for the Union Jack to be flown permanently over City Hall,........

++

There're demonstrations against Barnbrook at City Hall by many whites.

Tho we have this Islamic extremism in our midst in India but the kinda of polity that's evolving is not good for India in the long run.

I only hope that India doesn't become a Hindu Pakistan.

However, I dont care if I become a foreign national by then.

Nehru is not involved in any financial iregularity. Have u heard of Anand Bhavan in Allahabad?

P.S: U must have head of Ranjan Bhattacharya the son-in-law of Vajpayee who made crores of ruppes from wheelings and dealings? That sucker use to demand free kebabs from Ashoka Hotels in Dehli. What a cheap fellow he's!

Masan,

There'e no comparison btw Nehru and Mush.

Mohar,

That's funny.

As for being critical of the existing realities, what's wrong with it - be it Nehru or us?

Unless u r critical of urslf u cant make amends or reform our system. That's the philosophy of criticism. To say that Nehru wanted to destroy the country is downright mental.
