A Teacup in My Hand
The thing i wondered a little at was viewing their plight (`cos for me they`re both a plank short of a bridge) from the standpoint of a male-dominated society. This is primogeniture we`re talking about. Aunt Samina, even Sonya, get to make decisions in life that the Edhi baby`s parents might not have been able to because of this very male-dominated society. Take it away and the best one can hope for is to end up with power half-way between the two. So from a practical point of view I stand back, while admiring the intense fidelity of Sonya, and think that though she is Right- it would have been awfully convenient for her to have, at least slowly, realised that being Right often isn`t enough.
It`s pretty well told, `doe-like eyes` though?

Most upsetting, the bit about having lost weight..that wasn`t relevant; sort of an antipathy to the whole pregnancy thing? Right, well, I`m male. I`m going to say things like that- it`s an inbred optimism, that Sonya does turn out alright in the end - although, wanting her own kid then adopting, in a bout of not misplaced but certainly admirable compassion, another.. one has to wonder whether this grief hasn`t left her a bit shellshocked, if you know what i mean. Let’s not Barter Away Our Food Security for GM Crops
There has never been an instance in any of the GM crop-planting, tests or otherwise, where the altered genes have remained on the farm. They resistance they incorporate gets into the wild and is adapted for. The case of BtCotton has been that new pests have taken the place of the borer; in theory, new seed has an effective deterrent capacity of five years.
(U.Cal. Riverside). The increase in GMSoy acreage is a slightly different case: with this the yield is higher but also requires proportionally higher inputs, and actually quite a bit more in terms of water, the modification does not involve the crop producing toxins, as it does with BtCotton.
Eventually, these farmers will be selling medium grade crops with (much) higher input costs than before; personally, i am surprised the banking sector would agree to these loans.
On the other hand, if these GM seeds can be drought-resistant then they make excellent sense.
Finally, there are many better ways to improve the incomes of `poor` farmers- let us not be misled that these modified crops are designed for this purpose. Union for Concerned Scientists, W.Dc, have undertaken strong, reliable studies on this. US farmers had a real disadvantage and stopped using them. And this, is, I suspect, the real reason why they are being sent to the developing world.

It seems ludicrous that Pakistan is so concerned over its force security and is so poor at comprehending its Agricultural and economic security. Considering the importance of incomes in the Agricultural sector, from one end to the other, to effectively mortgage those incomes to foreign corporations seems like a remarkable shot in the foot. Fire Fly
So is this your Asmaan, Zameen: now I hear a rythym in the stuff you pen, but that`s a compliment. What i wanted to note was that this seeing out from a place where, I don`t know, like, you`re blocked in.. nah, this is a feedback system. You need to have a strong healthy regimen to move these colours around the chakras, or whatever, so that these obviously irrepressible emotions which must have been given you for a reason can make miss sharp(er) an` quick even better... really would like to hear what your pet thinks of you, if possible. -Other than that, nothing really.
`swallows patience` - where`d you even learn to spell that word?- bad joke but better than the one I was going to make (obviously your own fiction). Am I allowed to write this?
Mind: this poetry is what words are good for; mostly i do music for the this kind of buzz.

Yeah, I got that the other other day; saw someone who I wished, really, like totally, wished was someone else, y`know. It was on a bus, at night. And as i turned to stand I caught my own reflection in the glass- for the first time in weeks I liked the person I saw smiling happily. So is this your Asmaan, Zameen: now I hear a rythym in the stuff you pen, but that`s a compliment. Impotent Precedent
The bit that twists is where do principles come in? Are these like precedents; - are they what gets cast away from the shell we are brought up in to reveal the union of just another soul with the Brahamashakti? (I was reading the Ramayana, Hanuman turns out to be quite sensible, not like Rama, who is clearly a straight arrow sort)
- It`s worth mulling that the great thinkers are either religious (India) or scientific(Mediterranean) - the scientific path mandates that a wide enough knowledge base should be present first, so that when one chooses a course (precedent? - or was it what happened to one before?) the analogy is appropriate. The Religious course, is what i fink you are saying.. that at higher levels of consciousness solutions present themselves like music being played.
--I`m crying, doing what i though was fair and reasonable, fighting the battles i could, ..still i suppose i`ve read stuff that should ha` made me laugh.
..Umm, the `touching the ground` , from a song? What, like someone who usually floats? - Is it like a battle thru paper fences of other peoples thinking and flighty emotions? ?hm

Now look at this, the rules are there to be broken.. stick with them, till they get in the way, or worse yet- some people laugh at you. I`ve read a little about this (actual little) and it`s love, or relationships - that stuff b/w a man `nd girl - where rules, or precedents, are anaethma. The bit that twists is where do principles come in? Dessert
Hear that chowling hill wind, the purged fires of your ambition.
Though, Not sure who`s Rock who`s Paper (yr abridged vr); that shaves the thread.
Otherwise of course, your cooking is unlikely to be easily forgotten,
Stay warm, (with the cloying blood of your prey still steaming, still unwilling to soak into the sand under yer feet, i mean)
