A Wand or a Yardstick

Re: # 2
GoP made a good decision to end O/A Levels till 2010-2011

That decision was crap, bullcrap. O and A Levels were the one and only way a Pakistani student could get anything like a quality education.
The Matriculation system in Pakistan is utterly outdated, rote-based and kills analytic ability. They give you questions in subjects like physics and chemistry where you're supposed to fill 3-4 sheets with learnt material, basically acting the role of a photocopier, a friggin parrot! If the government wants to unify the education system, it should first IMPROVE the local system; otherwise, the result will be catastrophic.

Soft and gentle, a sort of mellowed sorrow...beautiful read. As always. Kudos.

Personally, I loved it..a breath of fresh air, if you will.
However, since you "thrive on criticism", and far be it form me to have you perish-it perhaps said too much in too little space. You should have given it more room, if you wanted to do it justice.

It is unethical to expect the first bull to make way for the second, or for anyone to kiss the feet of a bully and thus satsfy their ego. Such an approach may indeed help avoid any "scenes" and circumnavigate any showdown between bully and bullied, but in the end, it does more harm than good; it encourages such behaviour.

As a result of the furst bull's actions and the consequences, any other animals given to making their way by force would certainly think twice...it depends on whether you are willing to sacrifice temporary comfort for a principle stand.
Pakistan: A Downward Spiral?

The fact that you found this article depressing is a good sign. Looking at the world through a pair of rose colured glasses is a disease, self-delusion, deception.
Once in a while, it is healthy to take in the facts as they stand, no matter how unpalatable. There is no denying the fact that in Paistan, the bad outweighs the good.So yeah, being depressed by the truth is good, very good.

Pakistan: A Downward Spiral?

yes, we are indeed n a downward spiral. The reasons for this are many and varied, but I would say that perhapps the most important one is our collective antipathy. We are numb, distanced from what goes on in our country. Unless the people of Pakistan "wake up", so to speak, nothing can be done.
The Hegemony of the “Cause”

Well-written, certainly, but there is a paradox here- the concept of self-defense. Is that not an indispensible cause? Whether for an individual or a state? When faced with a possibly fatal threat, if the taking of human life is the only resolution...how woud hesitate?

Do you mean she`s lucky to be in ameica because she writes well? What exactly is the link between the two?

Bit of a cliche, no?
Militant Liberalism

Pessimism personified!
Pakistan isn`t going anywhere. Sure, there are problems, but problems are to be faced and challenges to be accepted. One day, we`ll back on our feet again.

Advice; be consistent. On the one hand, you claim to be against Pakistani terrorists. On the other hand, you say you are enjoying ``seeing pakiland get it from both sides``. All of ``Pakiland``.

Your blatant hatred for Pakistan is revolting. I fail to see how Pakistan`s problems- the problems of a NATION- can be a source of joy for anyone. But maybe that`s where bigotry comes in...

There is no use denying that Paksitan is in a capital mess. Any claims to the contrary are merely wishful thinking and self-dillusion. As Pakistanis, it is our DUTY to face upto our shortcomings and problems, rather than stoutly denying them under a facade of patriotism when someone else points them out. This is the attitude which allows miscrants to flourish; denial by the masses. It`s about time we opened our eyes, I believe...before it`s to late. If Pakistan`s in funk, only WE, the people, can solve it. Apathy has been the bane of our existence for too long... time to snap out of it!!!!!! I belive that once that happens, most of our country`s problems will be solved.
Get over the Victim Syndrome

You say that all we ever do is ``whine and moan``...maybe you`re right, seeing how that`s EXACTLY what you`ve just done!!! Your priorities are seriously messed up; you want people to stop protesting about a law which enables rapists to go scot-free, and give precedence to electricity bills???!!! How DARE you call the Paksitani population numb, just becuase they`re protesting against things YOU would have us overlook! You want us to take to the streets; when someone actually does, you start wailing about how it was for the WRONG PROBLEM!!! This a mindless rant...keep it for ``Dear Diary``, ok?
