Does Islam, in fact, Encourage Paedophilia?
ok..I get it. So you would be fine to have your six year old daughter married off to a devout, upstanding Muslim who is fiftysomething....great....good to hear

Letter from Pakistan
If Cuba can stand up for itself and separate interests, why can`t Pakistan?
Question for Urstruly and Zeemax:
If west is so bad what the hell are doing living there? 70 000 Indians form US, trained porofessional moved back to help build the homeland. What is holding you both back? Think it would be a waste of time?

arjun..you say it like it is and so true. Having been around Pakistanis in the States they are a sad sorry lot perpetually justifying their failed state and blaming everyone from Hinjews to Americans to heck even Afghans.
Pakistan was created against democratic principles ie ``One man one vote``. No different from white South Africans insisting on their own country because ther self-serving interest would be swallowed whole.
Considering how much US aid is siphoned to Pakistan is utterly inability to show anything for it rests with itself.

Don`t be so hard on abu. His education was intirely at a madrassah and he only reads the Quran and listens to PTV. That is why he does not know that a big juicy steak is available in India and some Hindus have been known to indulge.

I am afraid so...The ones with intellect, reasoning and humanity end up leaving the fold like Tehsinabbasi. Unfortunately in order not to cause waves and hurt their family they keep such cogent arguments to themselves.
abu_sawaanis are the ones that are left and are the reason people make jsuch negative judegements about islamic societies as a whole.

I think the problem is with non-Muslims period. They should be banned from chowk and hopefully one day from the entire planet earth. That will be when the whole world has embraced Islam because it is the only right way to live.
This is where this mindset leads to.
Killing someone because of their opinion is ridiculous. Besides why should Taslima be killed instead of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Michael Savage, Daniel Pipes etc etc... The fatwas against Taslima add credence to the hate mondering of the above mentionned individuals who mock Islam often to justify acts of unwarranted aggression against Muslims.
I am not raising my points to undermine sovereignty of Pakistan or wholesale dismissal of Islam. I believe that all religions are paradigms for man to understand his place in hte universe. I really don`t believe any religion is right. The abrahamic religions are more problematic in hte sense they advocate an omniscient omnipotent god who created humans etc etc... so silly. If he/she is so powerful why not a Mohammed/Christ for every culture so no one misses salvation. Ostensibly South Americans coudn`t be Muslims if they never even heard of it. Besides this god would have to be sick to watch this human drama with all the suffering and injustice unfold and watch back like it is some soap opera.

Why are u so pissed of? Just because you r mom was only a concubine?
Do you adopt an arabic moniker in the hopes that someday you will pass as one? They will only let you shine their shoes not marry one of their daughters. Because to them you are a monkey.

Funny but not usprising that not one of you mentionned the people who were listed above who had died or were issued fatwas against them. In rural areas of Pakistna you can accuse someone of blasphemy to force your will upon them. Iran has executed numerous people for the filmiest excuses. Some Saudi clerics want Shias to be declared heretics and killed thats why they are funding much of the violence in Iraq.
One question what the !@$#@!$ does this have to do with Hindus? Or Jews? Will you idiots at least explain why you think fatwas such as Talseemas are no bid deal and why the above mentionned individuals are better off dead. Face the music before hiding behind insults.

Hate to tell you this but this is more a believers vs non believers debate. My Chinese friends are similarily disposed to Islam. China is an ally with Pakistan for tactical purposes but they crush any Islamic movement in their own country. True West maligns Islam often to justify their greed and violent occupation of Iraq.
The people who suffer from the mindest of Maulana and his ilk will be Muslims children for generations.

Fatwas as death sentences are uniquely Islamic and are embarassing. Does not make Pakestianin oppression or abuses acceptable in Kashmir.
Dear Abu retard. I am not a Hindu, nor am I South Indian. Your racists rants are pitiful. My ancestors in all probablity raped yours, does it make you happy? I am a ``real`` outsider (not a trace of Hindu blood).

You are incapable of any dialogue. If someone disagrees with you they must be a hindu or indian.
One of these days you might end up on someone`s fatwa list and there will be no one to defend you. Ever thonk of that.
People who go around making lists of who deserve to die are the REAL problem. Of course to you it might seem like a harmless hobby.

I agree with your points. They are the reasons that Islam has attracted so many adherents as well. The kindness, humility and deep spirituality that I have witnessed of many acquaintances is testament to that. Islam fosters connectivity and is a salvation from blind hedonistic individualism. I see all of this.
My chief problem is that everything about Islam and Mohammed is beyond reproach/scrutiny. I have researched the life of Mohammed for the past 20 years and clearly there are numerous examples of self-serving (as well as selfless) and cruelty(as well as kindness). The examples listed above are very problematic but labelling anyone who raises them as necessarily an enemy of Muslims is myopic.
As for Zeena I am all to familiar with the offensive and derogatry vitriol spewed by Muslims towards Hindus, Christians, Jews etc... Yet they seem entitled to a double standard. Let me assure you its never going to happen. I am not suprised that fanatic Hindus are using tactics masterminded at squashing dissent by Muslims. Lowest common denominator seems to win.
It just baffles me that the kind of cold blooded killings listed above do not unnerve some interactors and instead they blissfully offer ludricous justifications.
