The Emerging Threat The Emerging Threat, is an urgent message to all of us about how deadly the virus of terrorism can be, its assaults on civilized life are taking a new strategic dimension at a rather fast pace not only in the NWFP but throughout Pakistan to attain certain political or religious objectives by criminal acts intended to create an overwhelming fear in the target population and undermine the psychosocial stability and political governability of the State. During my recent but brief visit, I noticed an exponential decline in the law and order situation and a large increase in the problems and frustrations of a common citizen, from the time (mid-eighties to mid- nineties)when I was a student in Lahore.
I took time read through all the interacts posted here. It is with a degree of disappointment, I would say that the writer's message;"how can citizens understand what they need to do to protect themselves,their institutions and find a sane treatment for this pathlogical phenomenon" seems to have lost in the semantic arguments and confusion of otherwise well-informed interactors.
