Rest in Peace Pakistan (1947-1974) Hey folks......there is something on in pakistan.......pak Rangers are targeting their # 1 export factory.....called lal masjid.......and firing at it........hordes of black- tented women possibly men too are doing the vamoos act ......some mad man over the loud speaker is asking for re-inforcements from neibouring factories (Masjids) but it does not seem to be effective.......

The next logical question is ``what is the meaning of Pakistan`` especially with regards to Muslims of Pakistan as well as for the larger Muslim population in India..........

Ideology.......Ummah......or just destiny.....

BTW.....My aunt & her family were also ``thrown out`` of west punjab........reached Delhi and then Lucknow with great difficuly and in the process lost her father and brother to the marauding mobs...........

I disagree with that opinion.......the worst casualty of the TNT concept were the Muslims who stayed back in India......They were put on ``notice`` by the majority community and despite that those who felt education and secular education was of paramount importance have gone on to prove their worth in & for India...eg, Prez Abdul kalam, Azim premji........these Muslims fought their way through an extremely competitive environment and the majority of Indians are proud of them.........

Imagine their plight if they or their granfathers had also bought into the TNT and migrated to Pakistan.............

Or was Pakistan meant only for Punjab & Sindh???

``The demand for Pakistan was not based on hostility towards India... the idea was to have a Muslim majority state in a confederation or atleast close cooperation with the rest of India... it was the Congress intolerance that made the whole idea bitter for a lot of people.

Thats Right.......the Muslim peasantry of India had a thorough knowledge of this resolution.....it was completely explained to them....yes they were even provided with special tutorial classes on the subject ...and therfore left their homes, relatives and what not to reach pakistan........
