The unconstitutional government has now charged 14 faculty members with sedition for their role in the deonstrations against emergency rule and the PCO and for demanding the restoration of the constitution. They are charged of having the guts to demand basic civil rights.

Why can't we stop calling Bhutto a shrewd politician? He is one of the biggest villains of Pakistan. Well...not that we have had any heroes....which is not a strange phonomenon considering the producer/director, Mr Jinnah was a villain himself.

Another thing, please leave the supposed writer of this tragedy - Iqbal out of this. His script has been adulterated by each and everyone!

The pathans obviously sell the best chars everywhere in Pakistan....why does that bother you people? Maybe they stand for the legalization of chars. That means a large population of pathans - for drugs is what most of them do- is not Islamist. I know at least 20 pathan dealers in Karachi and i'm on friendly terms with most of them. They have the least to do with any kind of religious nationalism. They are as lost and helpless as any poor punjabi or fascist karachiite.

Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf that books should be read and then thrown away, after absorbing whatever you like in them. I didn't like anything in his book....but I still like to tell people that i have read it. It also occupies some very valuable space (to me) on my bookshelf. Is that ironic or what

You make Pakistani Biryani sound like it's an institution, like the burqa. Maybe we ought to bomb all the bawarchis making biryani. I wonder how many beautiful women in burqas make excellent biryani?
Whence Then is Evil?

The approach that is most convincing, for me, in proving the existence of god, is the deterministic law of causality which traces god as the initial `causer`. But even that is not covincing, for what caused god? And why are we supposed to be moral agents then? Its amazing how all thinking eventually reasons up to Sartre
