India Factor for Pakistani Army

Anil sirji, I think it is a foregone conclusion that India is not a poor country...Indians are poor. that will change like it has been changing over the last 15 or so years. Nothing Riaz types can do. I have a more fundamental question for pakistanis. is there a competitive advantage for Pakistan (say it gives up on this death spiral of jihadism and thinks of joining the comity of nations on an economic and cultural basis)

" But the rapid economic growth alone has not and will not solve the problems of widespread poverty and hunger and illiteracy by itself. It will require sharper focus, progressive policies and public funds to make it happen"

Ok, this might be the most retarded statement to date.

Rapid economic growth will lead to alleviation of poverty. Each percentage point over a certain threshold lifts 10's of millions of people above the poverty line. And illiteracy will only come into the way of economic growth...this is a long term play...India is already addressing this. Inorder to achieve the population dividend (which is still to come) "Sharper focus"---what does this mean? "Progressive policies"????? "Public funds" are the result of rapid economic growth. the more you grow...the more you receive in revenues which are then invested as public funds into infra, education, healthcare..etc.

you don't get there by bombing your own people through helicopter gunships...

ridiculous
Is The Cheque In The Mail?

Actually cheema sahib, all interpretations are true from the p.o.v. Of the interpreter. The guy from JeM, a pakistani who eviscerates Indian babies in srinagar, is as correcþ in his what he believes is the god's mandate for him as is tahmed. Both tahmed and the JeM mujeheddin (as he would be called in pakistan) are muslims and believe in the infallibility of islam. Because of this infallibility surrounding the good book, the simple fact that the same verse can cause tahmed to withstand a little jihadism amidst the muslims and the JeM use of the verse to garner motivation to behead women and children can both be islamically true, makes both interpretations correct!

As long as the sancitity of the good book is maintained such obvious logical contradictions are encouraged in islam. Tahmed has no choice but to defend the quran....no matter how wrong it might be as a source of guidance for terrorists. Altering it nullifies it's validity. Pretty sad!

See the problem the paki armed forces have is that a) they haven't the stomach for a fight (having turned into a holding company with assets strewn across the economic landscape) b) the fear of losing yet again to India after all the rhetorically proclaimed superiority of capabilities and c) a basketcase economy to sustain a prolonged conflict.

It is simply amazing to watch the delusionary exclamations of posters here or politicians in that country or the army folks sweep aside the reality that the country is progressively going down the tubes in every measure.

I saw Riaz Ul Haq's post on investment into the country and I am simply amazed at the coolaid folks are drinking. As a fund manager, I would never put money into pakistan when there are better alternatives available for both short term and long term returns in the emerging or frontier markets. The mere fact that MSCI dropped pakistan from emerging market index last year is a testament to this.

Delusion is not even the word to describe this anymore.....perhaps "a cry for help" is more apt.

I kind of agree IM. rakesh Mani sahib is just doing a little bit of National Enquirer stuff. I am sure you are keenly awaiting his next installment. "Kasab admits he is planet Pakitron: His father in faridkot is also his mother"

"Personally, I believe that the entire attack was the handiwork of non-state actors. But SM Mushrif, in his experience, claims in his new book that the attacks should be split into two separate episodes and investigated separately."

Once agains lack of research has failed this wannabe journalist. I don't think credible news organizations make it to the lala land where Mr. Mani resides. LOL!

Well people bascially shreded Rakesh mani's thesis in the first few posts. Now the poor guy is basically trying to save some face with indignance. LOL! No wonder the guy works in the middleeast. No credible news organization would hire this hack.

Prior to Victorian times, men had sex and women had liaison de corazon....people married but the institution didn't have a puratanical bend to it.

Rich people even during victorian era maintained an open lifestyle (both women and men)

Rich people even now live in the same way.

You could have saved ur self some time and effort and posted an article on 15 varieties of dutch cheeses. I am removing you from my list of favorite chowk writers.
