Forgive n Forget

Re:#19, Abee

re Ps: :p
And why wouldn't you let people think so? :)
Its the intensity of emotions expressed that makes people 'want' to be convinced of its truthfulness. Who knows that this conviction leads them to begin believeing in their own ability to fall in love again :)
Forgive n Forget

Just by the time that I had Actually started missing something from you, here comes the piece that I love more than any other article of yours.

When such relationships come to an unpleasant end where the sides have not been balanced in contributing, its always a double loss: the loss of your confidence in winning someone by virtue of your heart, and the realization of the worthlessness of all that took your heart and soul to nourish.....

The key, as you have mentioned, is forgiving, which requires a giant leap of strength. Strength that comes only to an enriched soul like a present from the Divine. Forgetting may take a while, but we all need to keep our mental spaces tidy, so its always a good idea to let the unused icons disappear from the screen :)

Beautifully written Abee. As usual :)

Good that you brought this to discussion. I don't think that from the glamourized elite of our society, we have any other philanthropist on the same pedestal as Imran. Also in my view he remains the most honest character we can see on our political forfront scenario. However, the fact remains, I am yet to witness anything that convinces me that Imran can distinguish well between running a cancer facility and a nuclear state. Mind you, by no means I am a supporter of how this state is already being run, but this does not imply that since it is already being run the wrong way hence it can be run any way whatsoever. The reason I can entrust Imran with my wealth is the trust that I hold in his honesty and commitment as a social worker. The reason I am yet to trust Imran with my vote is the lack of any clear motive, or vision on his end. I do not know that tommorrow if US of A stops interfering in our policies what will Imran do? Whom to blame? Whom to direct our reactions at? Other than the anti-US policy, which frankly is quite like the JI stance, what else is there?
In the past Ten years other than being another way to spell IK, has PTI been able to come up with any faces as Imran's TEAM? Even 'Qaid e Azam' had a political 'party'!
I think there is a lot that Imran has to do before becoming a good policatal leader, but I hope he never stops doing what he is doing now, for he does that the best!
Terrorists Have Bombed My Future by Killing My Children

There was not a single word that did not resonate with the same heart wrenching pain that, I am sure, majority of us feel. May the soul of this, and all those Akbars rest in peace whom we lose everyday, and now almost every hour, to this untenable beast - terrorism.

Its humanity which is suffering, be it here or ANYWHERE else. To me, this hurts more because this happens in my own land.

I really appreciate your concern and your efforts Mr. Saeed Shiekh. I sure do hope with voices like these, the message should get more loud and clear!

In Pakistan its the TCF Rahbar Programme run by The Citizen's Foundation. And yes you are right, giving back something to your people remains the most fulfilling experience.

Best of luck Mr. Mani.
I hope we have more people in this part of the world especially, who think like this.

Well written Padash. But I am afraid I find the idea of "by hook or by crook" rather repulsive as an interpretation of ardent pursuit of dreams/ideals.
Or perhaps its just lofty ideals that ask for lofty quests? When dreams are not ideals but (ironically) materialistic, when goals are so superficial, why bother with even selfrespect (and other blah blah likes of dignity, comittment, honesty, nobility etc) where looks (or even gender) can be used as the cash in hand?

An interesting topic lost in a jeopardized narration. The cutting pasting could have been done in a better and coherent way, atleast.

A nice remeberance of the bygone, however, I would call it a too generalized opinion deduced from personal prefernces.

A correction though, the play mentioned at number 6 was NOT 'uroosa aur mehrun nisa', but 'SITARA AUR MEHERUN-NISA'. Urossa was altogether a different play based upon the novel 'Uroosa', that was a PTV Karachi production in 1992 and which introduced Adnan Siddiqui and Mishi Khan on tv.

it is interesting to note how do people not only take pride in their strength of faith in a religion that stresses humility as 'the' personal trait, but also demean other fellow muslims to flaunt their 'better' understanding of Islam. Certainly this attitude dates back to the preIslamic era of clan pride. Evaluation and Judging is by no means a mortal's task, and the one who thinks so is definitely no different from the mulla who in his ignorance believes that sitting in the mosque entitles him to question any one's faith.
