hey does anybdy know of sumthin really sweepin to read in the lazy summer afternoons.think far pavilions or english patient...sumthin just as driving.do tell if anyone has any suggestion

agree...The Kite Runner was a good one...wonderful tale. He may not be the most eloquent of writers nor have great lyrical sentences. But the art of storytelling he (Khaled Hosseini) knows! flag objectionable content

and if you’re thinking along the lines of ’’the far pavillions’’, perhaps paul scott’s the raj quartet (which the production of ’’the jewel in the crown’’ was based on). . . if you haven’t read that already. my summer’s reserved for ’’the dharma bums’’, ’’the lone ranger and tonto fistfight in heaven’’, ’’doctor zhivago’’, and diana abu-jaber’s ’’crescent’’ and ’’the language of baklava’’. and i’ll be very happy to get through at least one of those. i recommend all of them ’cept for doctor z. ’cause i haven’t read anything of the book, and have only seen the movie. and i can’t really recommend it based upon the movie. flag objectionable content

not in the same league as reading but just got a bunch of Sherlock Holmes DVDs. Jeremy Brett is close to genius. you should try Brideshead Revisited, Thornbirds or can you believe it?? have forgotten the name. flag objectionable content

shah. i know how it feels .. ) though i somehow managed to scrape through.. it was an amazing trip all the way.. if you able to get to casino Herman Goering.. then you prolly enjoy this exhibition.. this guy just for the fukin heck of it adapted GR graphically.. if you are thinking along the lines of English Patient then Crying of Lot 49 (by Pynchon) will rock your world inside out. It is less of a book more of a drug. cheers. flag objectionable content
