cheese, yeah it is amazing what a book can do for you! for example i loved gypsy masala by preethi nair, and love alex garland’s books, whereas many people don’t like his work!
dead air for me was amazing till halfway through it! he did give you a background to his characters, which i do appreciate, but somehow they did not sort of tie in with the story itself left it sort of loose! and if there was any connectivity of the characters then it would be based on friendship that had formed while at university and infedility! but besides that there was nothing! and abondoning the book 3/4 i felt that i would not have done any justice to the author as i thought there will be twist towards the end! but nothing really happened! nothing drastic! it was like reading a typical bollywood movie!
but then, i’m not going to write the author off completely, wasp factory, as i have heard, is pretty good, so will give him a second attempt, but am not having high expectations!

i think its cool how a book can do different things for people- dead air totally worked for me... there were huge flashes of brilliance in dead air... wasp factory and a song of stone werent half as good though complicity was fun

cheers

roziba, how the hell was i supposed to know that it would be stupid!

#3, cheese - dude, the book till the halfway mark one he get kidnapped! but then afterthat nothing really happened! it was all about his problems and how he was feeling too insecure! and at teh end, he doesn’t loose his job nor did he loose the love of his life that he was secretly having an ffair with!! and the individual stories, well it didn’t tie up together!! :@

twintopz; :@ don’t laugh, you don’t know what i’m talking about! 400 pages of complete junk!
