Brokeback Mountain

Topic started by rahul_capri on Dec 14, 2005 4:20:38 pm

Apparently it bagged a lot of nominations in various awards functions But the clincher for me was the claim of NY Times that Ledger has turned in a performance comparable to the best of Brando and Penn. Now thats something! I instinctively feel that this has got to be the best movie of the year.

I’m glad this shirtlifting movie didnt win ’’best film’’ this year. Would definately have sent the wrong signals to all the cowboys out there in the wild wild west. :D

From an aesthetic point-of-view, I am down with the lipstick lesbians.

Thank you amrita for asking that chilling question. What will Simon say and do now.

simon, so how do u feel about woman on woman? coz a lot of guys who go eww at man on man dont seem to mind it when its the other way around.

#7 I saw a couple of clips where these two doe-eyed guys are looking
longingly at each other EWWW! holding hands and then this guy is
hugging and caressing him from behind *barf* ...

Man-on-Man sex/romance is just not right, man.

pakihunk, I will try to give a serious answer. :))
I am agnostic towards a 10 second gay kiss or something.I can overcome the ’’Eww’’ factor if there is something going on in the movie which interests me. As far as hetero sex is concerned, better watch porn for that than wait for a few seconds of ’money shots’’ in a mainstream movie.

’’In fact the only homosexual stuff clearly shown is their kiss. ’’

were you disappointed? *-)

#6 I agree with you but I think gay couples may make up for that. And just for the record, it has more hetereosexual love scenes than homosexual ones. In fact the only homosexual stuff clearly shown is their kiss.

I predict that this movie will do a so-so business in theatres, because
no woman will ever be able to convince her man to go see a buddy-in-
buddy
cowboy movie, due to the major EWWW! factor.

It might have decent DVD sales in closets, all over the country.
