Cheb mami collaborated with Sting on desert rose. He is also Algerian like Khaled and in the world of Rai (which is what their genre is called) is considered only second to him.

I do like Ali Farka, but haven’t heard this song...will definitely check it out!

Btw theres this song by a band (basically 2 chix) called The Capricorns with a song called the New Sound it has to be the catchiest fuckin song ive ever heard, its this insanely addictive really cheesy pop song if i ever recommend sth to u i recommend this.

this danish band writes some cheesy lyrics with some attitude.. che, you should check it out for the beat and a very disco-like background manipulation... good stuff to take it down the ’high’ road...
