Music in 2006

Topic started by CheGuevara on Jan 9, 2006 6:11:52 am

Looks pretty good. :)

Radiohead, Tool, The Shins, Pearl Jam and Muse will all be releasing new albums this year (iblees willing). Metallica are rumoured to release one as well but I’m not expecting much after the pile of shit that was St.Anger (and I thought they couldn’t do any worse than reload :(( ).

So what are you looking forward to?

Cheb mami collaborated with Sting on desert rose. He is also Algerian like Khaled and in the world of Rai (which is what their genre is called) is considered only second to him.

I do like Ali Farka, but haven’t heard this song...will definitely check it out!

Yes.....most desis know him because of aicha and didi (both pop tunes that now definitely sound like they belong to the 90s). He has done a lot since then that is truly amazing....

Don’t forget Khaled....with his complex fusion of north african blues and funky jazz beats.

Trust me it’s not even an acquired taste. You listen to it once and you get hooked for life!

this danish band writes some cheesy lyrics with some attitude.. che, you should check it out for the beat and a very disco-like background manipulation... good stuff to take it down the ’high’ road...

My Girl You Blush
- by Moi Caprice
Come on out, don’t be another fool. We’ll go anywhere… anywhere. If half a heart has made your tongue a tool, go everywhere that isn’t here. If you’re naked on a blue screen, we’ll change the scene you’re in. If you’re blinded by a big beam half drunk with reddened skin then come on out, don’t be another fool. We’ll go anywhere, just anywhere… Half a heart from you will never do. Let’s go everywhere that’s far from here. Across town the sound of your jeans seems miracles away. I had dreams I was in your dreams no matter where you’d stay. Tender is the night, it now seems, but not the waking day! Despite no light I’ll find you, I’ll always be your salutary leech, and if the blindest kindness blinds you all hell breaks loose when my arms go besiege and every door will yield and every window sunder into cells…

Tonight you’re sleeping with someone else, the only problem is that you’re not sleeping at all Please come on out, don’t be another fool. We’ll go anywhere a billion endless worlds away from here. If we’re happy on a barstool, we’ll buy the bar we’re in. If we’re kicked out every art school, we’ll paint each other’s skin. If your jokes prove you an arch fool, I’ll love you with a grin and you’ll blush, you blush my girl you blush.
