Topic started by amrita on Feb 20, 2006 12:03:52 pm

I’m still waiting for my copy of Zemindar to arrive... and catching up on children’s books. did anyone know that original plates of children’s book illustrations can fetch tens of thousands of dollars? :O
they’re beautiful but who pays $25,000 for a pic in a nursery? oh wait... i just thought of some ppl. never mind.

awww... i read nancy too... and the hardy boys. at least until my mother started to tell me that she couldnt find any at the bookstore but she she knew this other guy who wrote some great stories instead called william shakespeare.

things i learned by attempting to write a children’s book -
1. i had a deprived childhood
2. my mother was responsible
3. she’s also responsible for the fact that i dont have to spend my adulthood reading the classics coz she already took care of it when i was little.
4. kids are a tough audience
5. i spent my childhood reading about the adventures of another ethnicity and i never even realized it
etc etc

i think kids in any one country end up reading the same books. american kids read one set, brit kids another, indians yet another. what do your kids read as australians? or dont australians read? :))
