che, well, it is a good song and girls tend to like it! hell i loved it the moment i heard it on mtv in 98! and as you’ve said, their earlier stuff was much punk rock than luscious rock ballads. i’ve been fan of thier music since for more than 13 years, so yeah i have seen them progressed and changed not that i’m that old, but telling someone ’’hey have you heard of a band called goo goo dolls’’ when you are 11 is not allowed! you were meant to listen to mariah carey and songs like that, but if you dressed the part than GNR, metallica and Nirvana were bands to listen. i fitted in neither category! so i secretly listened to bands like the GGD and so forth for my own liking!
and hey, you’re no asshole! trust me! i saw many wankers walking passed us while waitng in line for the concert!
if you relly want to hear their earlier stuff then i would def recommend you to listen to hold me up - alot screaming but some good melodies that come out if it.
but a refiner version of that is def. superstar car wash and better still a boy named goo!
amazing tracks on both these albums!
chk them out, you’ll be slightly more appreciative of thier music! :)

Aimie I heard their earlier stuff was more punk, never listened to it though. I guess black baloon is an ok song, not bad. The music is pretty formulaic, every single one of their big hits since Iris has the same song structure. I guess they’ve found a formula thatworks in the mainstream and are sticking to it.

I don’t mean to sound like an asshole with the multiple orgasm thing, but everytime my friends band covered that song during a concert, the lead singer got laid!!!

che, very funny! yeah, i do know about that! kinda sad! and chix getting multiple orgasms?? come on! that is just going a bit too far to claim that the song is gay and so are they! have you not heard their earlier stuff??

Iris is like the gayest song ever. Howard Stern wanted them to perform on his show wearing sailor suits with fat gay guys in thongs slow dancing to it :D , but its ok most chix seem to get multiple orgams over that song any way*-)

AND WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE GOO GOO DOLLS!! okay despite the new album lacks a bit of somethng! but they were the men behind such great music like name, long way down, and the ever repetitive iris! so what is wrng with them??
