Raw Dust: Its Not Just Hype

Good Bad and the Queen are another one of these groundbreaking acts to come out of englistaan. Set hai dada (T), i would have probably overlooked them coz of the name

calexico’s conjuring up the demons of mexic ali/calexico

Payne county line
Watching unjust claims
One man’s righteousness is another man’s
Long haul, sentence carried out
Long haul, counting the miles
To the four corners of the world
Spring is rusted shut, (faith’s) coiled and cracked
Apparitions worth their weight in gold
Scratched in metal, name erodes away
Hands are scarred, heart is charred
Burnt though, and ashen
Trip on fence post line
Sifting through the remains
One man’s close pursuit is another man’s
Last chance, make it through the divide
Last chance, suffer the weight or get buried by this
Black heart, sweeping over the land
Black heart, crawling its way

lemme coin my own genre: ranchera-indierock and i present to you, Calexico’s Feast of Wire as the finest example of the genre. cool cover too.!

i definately woulkdn’t call aphex twin post- rock *-) i dunno man i used to call slint and mogwai type stuff progressive until i read more into it everyone seems to label it as post-rock, hell i don’t even know what ’’grunge’’ is.

i am bad with all this labeling and shit, postrock, indierock, no-wave, post punk so i dunno if stereolab, aphex twin, album leaf(the guy from great san diego), tortoise would be postrock. i’d even call death from above 1979 postrock. i can see the term slowly becoming totally meaningless if you bring drum&bass and dub into it.

view from a basement on the hill is amazing and given his harakiri the song fond farewell takes on a quite an eerie tone.
