What makes one a Muslim

Allah swt says in Quran...'la ikraha fe-deen' there is no compulsion in religion. No one should force anyone to do anything, however as parents and as family members who care for each others well being in this world and hereafter we should advise THOSE who we care about what WE believe is right and wrong.

We should also be careful about declaring whats IS Islam and what ISNT, especially since we have a very passing and rudimentary knowledge of a subject in which people spent there entires lives learning just one aspect of it and do there phd's in. We should be sincere to Allah swt and follow the teachings of Prophet PBUH. to the best of our ability. I find it quite comical that everyone is of the opinion that a Muslim is the one who believes in one Allah and Muhammad as his messenger(because thats what La-Ilaha Il-Allah Muhammad Rasool Allah....thats awesome..but how do u believe in the messenger without believing in his message? And his message is Quran and Sahih Hadith which in sunni school of thought has the same importance and reverence as Quran.

One can believe in the message and yet be too lazy or weak willed to follow it. Har suttey kee dabbi bolti hai "if u smoke this, u will die". People see the message, believe it and continue to smaoke it..dekhi jayegi. flag objectionable content

Allah Mullah Rasgulla.....that rhymes really well... Seriously, arent u pakis totally obsessed with religion? Instead of obsessing about it, why not actually implement its message of peace and kindness for a change? People like u have turned Islam into a tamasha....an ideological caricature...a neo marxist movement with god thrown in.... In early days, non-muslims used to admire muslims for their piety and good deeds....which is why they would convert....now non-muslims look at people like you and feel sheer revulsion at the sight of mindless religious fundos....its the same feeling of revulsion that we have against right wingers like pat robertson or jesse helms.... flag objectionable content
