There's an Ethiopian singer named Aster Awake'. She only sings in Ethiopian language ... but it's haunting what she sings even though one doesn't know what she says. Lives in Paris I think. There's a song of her "Kabu kabu" which is just amazing ... like ancient music from some unknown time. I've never heard anything like it. Do leech it off the web if you can find it.

There's something about Sub-Saharan Africans, particularly Ethiopians, which is quite distinguishing. These are very graceful people with a lot of poise and clearly descended from some very noble heritage

I suppose this would be true when there were no nation states (except tribal claims over territory) but not anymore.

Actually Israel does vet prrtty stringently who is a jew or not before allowing immigration. I remember there was a LOT of resistance on allowing in Ethiopian jews even though they're said to be one of the earliest Jews descending directly from one of Noah's son who was black. that's interesting, zeemax, i thought some members of all jewish groups have had dnas done at some point, and that is what a lot of geneaology sites say. in fact someone i know who is jewish south african commented to me she thought that this was why deep dna tracing had developed as quickly as it had over the last 5 or 10 years.
i also think this belief that not all jews are related might come from some people wanting to deny jews the right to go to Israel.
i find that unnecessary. my argument is you can't leave a place and return after 1000 years saying you used to live there; so non-local Jews don't have the right to live there over the palestinians who lived there until 50 years ago. if you look at it that way,( I know you don't believe in evolution but i do)then all humans have the right to go and live in Kenya or Ethopia, since humanity is thought to have originated around there.
