PCB looking into Shoaib Malik's comments

KARACHI: Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik could be in trouble for his recent comments that he enjoyed playing the IPL more than the recent home series against Bangladesh with his cricket board looking into whether he had violated PCB Code of Conduct.

Malik, who plays for Delhi Daredevils in the IPL, has also drawn flak from the media here over another comment at a television show yesterday that he got more love from the people of India than what he got in his own country.

A senior PCB official said they couldn't do much about what was a personal opinion from the national captain but they were looking into his statement where he had devalued the international series against Bangladesh.

"If it comes under the preview of the Code of Conduct then certainly we will think of taking some action against him," the official said.

The widely circulated Express newspaper said that Malik had disappointed a lot of his fans in Pakistan with his insensitive comments on getting more love in India.

"It is because of his fans and supporters in Pakistan that he got the captaincy at such a young age," the newspaper noted.

The PCB in its updated regulations on the interaction of its players with the media has laid down strong penalties for statements which cause controversy.

he is going to lose captaincy because of poor leadership ......other factors may or may not play any role.
He is a good player and a nice person but may be not shrude enough and not so much a politically correct person!

Pandit Ladduji Maharaj,

If IPL turns out to be a success and it pays cricketers better than the national Boards, I wudnt be surprised to see more cricketers taking premature retirement and becoming full time IPL cricketers. And they wont be all Pakis.

Regards
