I understand the nautanki attached with media freedom... But they have given the dictator some very tough time... Lawyers and civil society has done some good work for strenghtening judiciary...If media wasn't there, we could see some of those lawyers sent to gitmo forever and otherones killed n suicide bombing...

Recent elections were quite trasparent in the sense that ballet boxes were not full or were not counted incorrectly. (pre-poll rigging techniques were used i.e. giving more media coverage to certain candidates on national channels, ensuring government funded development projects if voted in favour of certain candidates). And Media is acting as a watchdog for not letting major irregulations take place....

Because of independent media, things have changed a lot. More improvements are needed but Pakistan is generally on right direction.... It will be free in a decade or so...
