AKCheema Sahib: Muslim Versus Islamic? :(

Topic started by KaalChakra on May 12, 2008 7:12:26 am

Cheema Sahib, on a personal, individual level, we can all resepct you and sympathize with you. You obviously do not believe in any Allah. So one assumes you do not in the least believe in the non-negotiable core, the fundamentals, of Islaam:

1. There is no God except Allah.
2. Allah sent Prophet Muhammad His final Message.
3. The Quran represents that final message received by Prophet Muhammad.

Yet you see yourself as a Muslim (assuming that here). Which is perfectly fine, except it does not help us identify a Muslim from a believer in Islam.

Should we use some other word for believers in Islam. An Islamic, perhaps?

swarrier that may be, but I'm sure you have heard the suave "Yogaaa" sessions performed by perky little urbanites in New Delhi and B'bay in their tight fitting slacks and "Yoga mats" and the whole enchilada. That "Yoga" phonetically sounds just like sahib.

Abe Cobray the ending consonant is pronounced in Sanskrit. You don't say Yogaaaa, you say Yoguh....as in yogurt....:))

cheema sahib, nothing wrong. I don't know if there is god but if there is one then I am sure it understands all human languages.

I understand your cultural roots. It's not like we don't have our share of cultural hybrids who get tired of eating "burgers" and "pizza" in Mumbai. 8-|

These guys are so pathetic that they would do "Yoga" in the same style of Gora sahib. Now the original word is "Yog" but they would twist their tongue to say the corrupted "Yoga" just like sahib.

Kaal what difference does it make, honestly? Creating more meaningless categories is sufiyapa and cannot be tolerated [-X

Alphalpha,

Yes I'm now more aware of not being misunderstood. Thanks to Kaal for that. I acknowledge the credit.

akcheema,

Of-course Iqbal was right. How's that sheyr you quoted inconsistent with all the rest he said? Of-course no one is aa'gah with his/hers potential. I really don't see your point.

Zee,

and what nonsense would you call what I quoted from Iqbal?

Cobray,

yes, I do also use the word 'rabb' which is common to all punjabis, albeit arabic in origin too. you should know bloody well what sort of a 'practicing' i may be!

Khuda Hafiz is part of my upbringing, hence culture; Zee may understand but that is not the objective. I like Khuda as it is more "me" in terms of its cultural roots; Iqbal, Ghalib, and Faiz (amonst others) used it so can't be THAT wrong.

Besides, my god seems to speak and comprehend all the 'known AND unknown' languages and he has absolutely NO WORRIES deciphering me!

Post by nb,

nb, I think you're referring to that body bags remark. Please don't misconstrue it (which I'm sure is unintended) as others misconstrue some of your remarks. It wasn't intended in that manner at all.

akcheema sahib, you are punjabi. Khuda is Persian word and Al-lah (the lah?) is Arabic. Both refer to the pre-islamic deities of their respective region. Whay can't you say Ishwar aap ka bhala rakhe?

If you are a practicing muslim then that's a different issue.
