Cheema sahib, you are showing the symptoms of the end of-Stage-I of the famous Chowkitis disease.

It happens to individuals who originally came to chowk following the works of individual writers then got tempted by the span of issues being discussed and the immense scope for doing good through such discussions.

By the end of stage I, such individuals become reasonably familiar with the fallacious logic of most contributors (writers and interactors).

And they are ready to leave...

Except, by that time, it is too late! The bug has gotten hold! And there is nothing to look forward to....

Except Stage-II and Stage-III....

But I won't tell you about those now...it's too depressing!

NB, I have figured out the perfect antidote to this "mutual admiration" bug. And it actually works!

I am NEVER nice to anybody! :))

hmmm....this "logic" thing I could never understand *-)

most "logic" on chowk goes like:

every cat has four legs

my dog has four legs

therefore...my dog is a cat!

no, since you imply that means being nice to someone so that they'll be nice to you.8-|

bj2 its not a mutual admiration society[-X Perish the thought, its just that they both

(a) share the same views/opinions
(b) share the same knowledge
(c) have the same logic

Its natural that they both should agree.8-|

Its called the "Peas in Pod " (PIP =Picture in Picture on TVs) Phenomenon (T)

Cheema sahib, I should have directed the last post to you.

Bhatti sahib, that one was meant for Cheema sahib.

Bhatti sahib,

Mushairas have a noble purpose. They are generally genuine and meant for fun.

It is absolutely okay to boost the morale of individuals who - for example, maybe shy, new at the trade, or just not comfortable performing in public. I am glad the mushaira attendees help them. The appreciateion is meant well.

Not in the mutual admiration societies which are clearly marriages of convenience!

Illicit marriages of convenience, IMHO!

Bhatti sahib, I think this phenomenon is more peculiar to the writing class of people.

And, I do not mean to unduly alarm you, but...

(Hushed voice) I have seen a few symptomatic individuals around this site, too!

I kid you not!
